Before

My annoying phone rings and wakes me up early in the morning.

"Who is this?!"

"Jacob and we have a problem."

Oh crap! My stomach dropped and this worrisome feeling comes over me.

"What happened?"

"Well first is Beatrice with you?"

"No she was supposed to be with you, you ass!"

"No need for foul language, but she was kidnapped."

"WHAT DO YOU MEAN?!"

"Look, I'll explain. Just come to my job and bring her mom."

"Jacob. I swear to the most high that if something happens to her I will kill you."

"If something happens to her I'll kill myself."

He hangs up and I get out of bed and into the car.

I rush to Beatrice's house and ring the doorbell.

"Who the hell ringing my doorbell?" Ms. Smith answers swinging the door open.

"Ms. Smith, it's about Beatrice. She's in trouble come on."

"Oh fuck!"

She runs to my car and we drive to Jacob's old job.

A older man that looks like he's Jacob's dad is standing next to Jacob and his back straightens when Ms. Smith comes through the door.

Her face drops and the two of them don't take their eyes off each other.

"It's been a long time Berniece."

"Not long enough." She replies with a cold smile.

He smirks and her breath hitches.

"What happened to my daughter?!" She demands

"Yeah! That's what I want to know!" I speak.

"Her grandfather took her."

"Beatrice doesn't have a grandfather!" I remind. "Ms. Smith's dad is dead."

"We're not talking about her mother's father. We're talking about her father's father." He snarls looking at Ms. Smith.

"So you let her get taken?" Ms. Smith questions Jacob.

"It was either that or he killed my dad."

"Like I said you just let him take her for  what?!"

"Easy!" Jacob's dad Jamal yells.

"Why? We both know if it was us I wouldn't have left. He is weak and too inexperienced to have this position!"

Jamal looks at her for a few moments. "You're right if it was us, you wouldn't have left. He is different from us."

"His heart is weak! He will never be able to handle this businesses."
