Walking up in the morning with a sinking feeling in my heart, made me dislike the day even more.

It was currently eleven-thirty am when I checked my phone, I had five texts from Kyle, five texts from Nathan, fourteen texts from Ashton, and surprisingly seventeen texts from Grayson.

I was surprised and weirded out why Grayson had texted me so much.

After answering all four of them with a simple and one sided answer. I shut off my phone and head downstairs.

Lauren and Cartier were here and they watching something on the tv. Nick was doing his homework on the other couch.

I walk down the stairs and Cartier's head turns to me, he forces a smile. I return the favour before making my way into the kitchen.

There I found Mason and Dad. It's the first day of the week dad is actually home.

Dad was reading the newspaper with a cup of coffee, and Mason was sitting at the island his cereal in front of him but it didn't look like he had touched it yet.

"Hello sweetheart" dad forces me a smile, I mumble a morning.

I grab an apple and lean against the counter from Mason, who was now fiddling with his spoon. I tilt my head at Mason, I've never seen him this down before. He was usually the more upbeat one, trying to get me to smile.

Not even after mom had died, he would just lock himself in his room then a week later he came out and was just as happy. But now it seemed like all the happiness and energy he had the day before was drained.

Dad gets up to go to his office. Probably going to drown himself in work.

Before I could question Mason on what's wrong and if he's okay. Cartier, Lauren and Nick come into the room.

"We need to talk" Cartier says coming over to me and wrapping his arms around my shoulders and neck, swaying us back and forth.

Mason nods, pushing his bowl across the counter not wanting to eat.

Before Cartier could continue talking, Jacks comes in holding two sheets of coloured papers, he waves them in the air "these are for Ryder and mommy" he smiles brightly.

My heart sinks farther into my stomach. Ryder Jones, my twin. He had died from a car crash him and my brother got into three years ago. Ryder and I were in the eighth grade.

"It's beautiful, we'll send it to them alright" Lauren breaks the silence, forcing a smile on her face.

We hear the door bell ring "that's what I wanted to talk about" Cartier sighs, I tilt my head in confusion.

Dad answers the door, and I hear voices talking, making their way towards the kitchen. Mason picked up Jacks, looking at the pictures he had drawn.

Dad comes into view, my breath stops as I see Adam, the oldest of the Jones family. He had left deciding he needed time away from all this since he thought it was his fault Ryder had died. He was driving the car and he took full blame when I told him a hundred times it wasn't his fault.

So yes we were a family of eight. Mason, Ryder, Nick and I inherited our mother's brown hair and blue eyes. Adam, Cartier and Jacks inherited our father's dirty blonde hair and green eyes. We looked like step siblings more then full siblings.

Mason was the first to get up and give Adam a hug, Adam physically relaxed. This day could not get any weirder.
