Chapter 10

POV: Emma

I looked out the window and slid a hand down my face. Cry and Pewds were talking about, almost arguing, what we should do, leaving me out of the conversation. I had something pretty important to tell them but they were to busy starting an argument. I started playing around with Cry's Sup Guy mask and twirling the thick black string at the top of the white mask. I have already tried to tell them what I had to say and got ignored. I might as well try again.

"I have a map." She said. Neither of the boys listened, they continued to brew up and argument.

"I have a map of Italy!" I said louder, almost screaming. Both men turned their heads.

"What? You have a map?" Cry asked, shocked.

"Yeah but just of Italy. It'll at least help us out of here, though." I shrugged my shoulders.

"Why didn't you tell us sooner?" Felix questioned.

"You wouldn't listen to me. Plus, you should have remembered we used it the other day." I said, sounding a little childish, which is kind of unlike me, but hey, I'm 13. I can still be a little childish if I want.

I grabbed the map out of my backpack and laid it out on my legs.

"So, I'm assuming we're here." Cry pointed to where the purple mark line started, his calming, mysterious voice just like in his videos.

I looked up at him. It was so weird seeing his face. I've read vague descriptions, heard rumors, and saw anime fan art, but none came close to what he really looked like. Big blue eyes, thick brown hair. Cry and Pewdiepie in the same car as me. Minus the zombies and kidnapping this is like a dream.

"Emma?" The sound of my name pulled me out of my thoughts. Pewdie was looking into my eyes.

"Um, uh, yeah?" I mumbled my words.

"You okay?" Cry asked.

"Uh yeah. Just, uh, thinking."

"About?" Pewdie questioned.

"How to get out of here." I lied. I didn't want them to think I'm weird or something.

They both looked at me one more time then back to the map. They had taken a black marker from my back pack and started deciding on the fastest rout out of Italy. While we still had this non-chaotic moment, I took the opportunity and pulled my mothers favorite necklace, she had given me not long ago, out of my pocket, untagled it from my headphones, and lacked it around my neck. Small diamonds, surrounded by stainless steel sparkled in the shape of a heart on my chest. I smiled at the necklace as I twirled in in my hand.

*Flash back*

"I couldn't take this. It's yours." I protested, holding the shinning necklace out to my mother.

She smiled at me and closed my hand around the necklace. "It's yours now." Her loving voice insisted.

I sighed and smiled up at her. "Thank you." I whispered as I gave her a hug.

*End of Flashback*

I quickly swiped away a tear before the guys could notice. I looked over to them as the spread the map out on the dashboard. Cry started up the car and did a U-turn.

My mind started stirring up questions as I pet the small dogs. What if we don't find Marzia? Will Felix blame me? And what if we do? Will he not want me? Or try to leave me alone in this mess. What about Ken? Would we be able to help him? Or is it even possible to leave Europe?

I guess everything will be okay for now, tho. At least I hope.

POV: Felix

We've been driving for around two hours or more, making only two stops for the dogs. We haven't seen any moving vehicles yet and we haven't seen any people. Well, at least not sane ones.

Cry ran over three of the zombie type things and I shot two. Emma's been very quit since the last zombie we encountered. I'm not really sure way. I think she might be asleep now.

I glanced in the rearview mirror and saw Emma with the Sup Guy mask on, cuddling with the dogs. She looked sound asleep. I noticed she didn't have her seat belt on. It bother me slightly. I've never really minded if someone didn't wear a seat belt, but for some reason it bothered me when she didn't have hers on. I shook it off, smiled and looked back to the road in front of me. The cars that were in the road were pushed to the side with large scraps on the side, just like the ones from earlier. I sighed and put a hand over my newly bandaged forehead, leaning against the car door. Questions repeatedly ran through my head: Where is Marzia? Is she safe? Will we save her? Are we even going to make it out of Italy alive? And more ran through my mind.

Well, at least one question got answered. I looked up to see many empty toll booths with the barricades in fragments of splintered wood on the ground and a large sing with the words AUSTRIA in large bolded letters.

We drove closer to the toll booths that lead into Austria, the country above Italy. Cry slowly drove the car through the booths as we scanned the area for any trace of any of the zombies. I noticed Emma sit up in the back and pull off the Sup Guy mask, sitting it beside her. The dogs huddled around her legs, getting comfy again. Cry then stopped the car. Me and Emma looked at him, a little confused but neither of us said a word.

"I'm going to go look for a map." Ryan stated. Opening up the car door and a steady dinging from the car was the only sound to be heard.

"Stay here with the dogs. Keep your gun close." I said to Emma and jumped out of the car, pushing the door shut. "I'll help. You can't go off alone." I stated, following behind. I looked back at Emma. She looked scared. I hate leaving her alone.

I smiled back at her and she smiled back at me then turned away from the window. Cry and I walked to the nearest toll booth and searched around. We found: fresh batteries, road flares, and a taser. But no map. I looked back at the car. Emma was playing with the dogs. I smiled and started walking to the next booth.

Ryan walked into the booth. I lingered at the door way for a few seconds when I heard him laughing.

"No way!" He laughed. His back was turned to me but I could tell he had some stuff in his hands. I started to walk over to him. He spun around on his heels, smiling. Ryan held ammo boxes and a couple high powered military-like guns in his arms. I smiled at him in glee.

"This is awesome!" I smiled.

"Who do you think left it here?" Cry asked.

"I dunno. Army?" I suggested as we turned to the door of the booth. Cry shrugged his shoulders in response.

As we turned to head back to the car, I noticed a map on a small desk to my right. I snatched it up and saw a map that stretched from Italy to Denmark.

"Perfect." I muttered as we walked to the car. I popped open the trunk and Cry put the stuff in the back. I decided to let him take a break so I hopped in the drivers seat. He marked where to go in purple marker on the detailed map. And we took off.

I'm coming for you Marzia.
