Chapter 17
POV: Emma

"Marzia...Marzia..." I woke up to Felix talking in his sleep.

I looked around the small, abandon grocery store we had decided to camp in. I noticed I was the only one awake. Everyone, except Felix, was huddled up in their covers and sleeping bags, warm and as cozy as you can get sleeping on the floor. Felix was thrashing around in his sleeping bag, as if having a bad dream. He kept mumbling in Swedish and repeating Marzias name. Poor dude...

I crawled out of my sleeping bag, instantly freezing from the cold, unheated store, and over to him. "Felix? Felix, it's just a dream. Wake up." I said, very quietly as I shook his shoulders. He gasped and slung himself up right, pushing me backwards. He panted slightly and ran a hand though his thick hair. I could clearly see the sweat on his face and neck.

"She was there..." He mumbled under his breath.

"What?"

"N-nothing." He shook his head and stared straight ahead, not looking over to me. "What time is it?" He changed the subject, quickly glancing in my direction.

I looked at my phone screen. "Five thirty am." Then slid the phone back in my pocket.

"Are you feeling okay?"

"Yeah. That cough medicine worked amazingly." I smiled.

"Well, we'll have to take some with us. You wanna wake up the others?"

"You wanna talk about your dream? I heard you saying Marzia's name will you were sleeping." I asked standing up from the floor.

He looked up at me and sighed, looking annoyed by the question. "Maybe later. Go ahead and wake up the others and we'll have a group talk. I'll pack up some stuff while you do that."

He started to rub his face then his hands, stopping over his eyes as he just sat there. I sighed, feeling bad for asking and walked away.

Great. Now he's pissed at me.

I walked over to Cry first. I've started to call him Ryan more and more now and I think he likes it better for some odd reason. I thought he hated his fans calling him Ryan. I actually haven't called him Cry since Fianna and George started to tag along with us.

"Cr-Ryan." I shook his shoulder lightly.

His body twitched and his eyes bursted opened, looking a bit scared.

"Gud moring." He sleepily slurred his words as he stretched out of his sleeping bag.

"Morning. Get your stuff together, we're going to have breakfast and a group meting." I told him. "I'll wake George up if you wake up Fianna." I offered, standing up. He nodded in agreement to my offer and yawned as I walked over to George. George laid all curled up in his sleeping bag in the next isle over.

He was shaking and mumbling. I guess no ones having a good sleep. "George wake up." I said, leaning close to his face.

George quickly leaned forward and our lips collided. Both our eyes widened and I jumped back away from the "kiss"- if you can call it that- and into a shelf. We just sat there for a while and stared at each other. Neither of us moved or spoke.

"Sor-"

"That didn't happen." I cut George off and stood up from where I was sitting. I brushed myself off and walked away.

I started to walk around the store and grab things to start up breakfast. Since there wasn't a microwave, stove top, or oven to work with, I tried my best.

I ended up scrounging up: bowls, plastic silverware, a lot of different brands of cereal, milk, caned fruits, breakfast muffins, granola bars, juice, energy shots, and energy drinks. Pretty good, if I do say so myself.

I sat all that down on a table near the back of the store and noticed a deli a few isle down. None of us had explored this area yet. As soon as we got here last night we closed and locked or blocked up any doors we saw and passed out, only looking for things for sleep.

I moved a chair, that was jamming the knob, out of the way and sat it to the side.

"Mr. Chair." I mumbled with a half smile crossing my face. Dang I miss YouTube.

I wondered into the dark deli room, the door slowly closing behind me, as I searching for a light. Unable to find a light near by, I started to follow the wall. I felt a light switch under my finger but didn't get the chance to flip it. A hand was pulled over my mouth and an arm around my chest. I tried to scream but the hand was muffling my every attempt.

I felt breathing on my neck. "What are you doing here alone? You're coming with me." The unkown voice stated. Well at least its not a zombie.

I thrashed around and tried to talk but it didnt work. The person had a strong grip. The person just shushed me. So, I did the next logical thing. I bit down on the hand over my mouth, hard. The person exclaimed a cry of pain as I ran in the dark, trying to dodge unseen objects. "Felix! Help me!" I screamed as I ran to the back door with a green exit sign above it.

"Come back here!" The voice angrily whispered.

I started to cough and my breathing was restricted and weezy. My heart and chest felt frozen and my lungs and throat felt like they were closing in on themselves. Was this a asthma attack? I'm not asthmatic. I've never been asthmatic. Well not since I was little, but I was really little. I haven't carried an inhaler in years.

I clutched my chest, doubling over, the freezing pain in my chest unbearable, and tried to calm myself. That didn't help. I heard footsteps come towards me. I couldn't do anything about it. My eyes closed before I hit the ground.

POV: Felix

I heard a scream and my name being yelled. It was Emma. Cry must have heard it to because he tossed me my gun as we both ran toward the scream.

"Emma?!" I yelled, as I ran to the opposite side of the store. I got no response in return.

Oh God. Oh no. What if she's hurt? What if I failed to protect her again. I'll never forgive myself. Ever.

Cry ran ahead of me and pushed open a door, running in. I followed behind and saw a small light in the middle of the room. I stayed close the the wall and found a light switch. A girl stood behind Ryan as he kneeled down on the ground. I ran over to him and saw Emma. She was laying on the ground, breathless. I kneeled down by her and just stared at her, not knowing what to do.

"She's having an asthma attack." The woman stated and kneeled down by Ryan. She pulled out an inhaler from her pocket and put part of it in Emma's mouth, spraying it before anyone had a chance to object.

Emma opened her eyes and started to freak out. She pushed herself backwards, breathing heavy, and looking around frantically.

I grabbed her shoulders and wrapped her into a hug. "Calm down." I whispered over and over again.

Her breathing started to slow down and the father feeling that built up inside me was still being released.

"What happened?" Emma asked, her voice barely audible.

"You had and asthma attack." The still unknown girl answered. I just noticed her thick Swedish accent.

Emma jumped out of my arms at the sound of the girls voice and crawled away. She slammed her back againt the wall and staired at the girl. I got up and started towards her. "She tried to take me..." Emmas voice was shaky.

I quickly pulled out my gun and pointed it at the girls head. Ryan quickly followed my movement. Her hands jolted up.

"Look, I thought she was alone." She stated. "I was tring to help her. I thought she was going towards the back boor."

"Whats wrong with the door?" I asked.

"Its not the door. It's what's ouside it." I was hoping for a different answer.

"Did you bring them here?" Ryan asked before I could as Emma ran behind me.

"No. They were in the back parking-lot when I came in. Now their just closer to the door."

"Well why did you come in here if the back was surrounded my THEM...?" I asked as Emma's grip on my shirt tightened.

"I need a lot of supplies. I have a group. We know why all this happened and we want to stop it but the Swedish government didn't let us go without a fight... Many of my coworkers, my friends, are injured and hungry."

She looked kinda young to be working for the government. She only looked about twenty-five or something. "What's your name?" I asked, lowering my gun.

"You can call me Remix."

Ryan lowered his gun as well. "Can you tell us about why this is happening?"

"Let me get some supplies first." She put her hands down. "Can I do that?"

Ryan and I put up our guns up at the same time. "Yeah. We have to do the same." Ryan said. "I'll introduce you to the rest of the group." He offered and started to walk to the exit. Remix followed closely behind.

"Come on. Let's go find you some medicine for you." I told Emma

Me and Emma walked to the other side of the grocery store and found the small drug store center of the store.

We walked over to the white door but it was locked. So, I walked up to the counter and tried to pull up the thick metal wire cage draped down over the counter but it wouldn't budge. I hit the metal wire and turned to Emma. I told her to go find me some bolt cutters and she ran off.

Soon she returned and handed me the bolt cutters. "These good?" She asked, coughing her head off.

"Yeah. Why dontcha' take some more of those cough drops or some more cough meds.?" I asked, cutting around where the cutters needed to fit in.

"I've already taken the amount I'm supposed to and I ate a whole bag of cough drops finding the bolt cutters and coming back."

"Dang girl!" I exclaimed.

"Yeah..." She kinda half smiled.

I shook my head and continued cutting the metal until there was a big enough whole to get to the bolt on the inside.

I cut the bolt and pulled up the metal gate. "Ladies first." I said as I lifted Emma up on the counter. She slid off the counter and looked around at the medicine. I jumped in behind her and started to look around. I had no idea what she needed. I just started to scan the shelfs and put random inhalers in my pocket.

"Felix." Emma called my name from a the other side of the room. Even though she didn't sound panicked, I ran over to her.

"Yeah?"

"This is the kind I used when I was little. I think I need a stronger prescription now though." She said as her hands drifted over to some inhalers. "Liiiike theeese." She swiped out the whole shelf. Into her arms. I emptied my pockets and took some from her and put them in my pockets.

After putting all Emma's medicine in her bags we went off to find "Remix", as she called herself, and the group. But when we came back it wasn't good.

"Where's Remix?" I asked Cry.

"She left." He answered.

"What!?"

"Yeah... She got a call on her radio and ran out of the place like a bat outa' hell." Fianna stood up from a lawn chair.

"Yeah, she looked scared." George chimed in, stuffing his face with a muffin. "Aya, but she did throw this map at me on her way out!"
