Chapter 20

POV: Ryan(Cry)

We've been walking for hours upon hours with no stops for anything. Emma's asthma even started acting up and we didn't stop, she wouldn't let us. Soon after that Fianna and I took Pewds and Emma's bags so Emma could piggyback on Felix some of the way.

Felix and Emma were about two feet infront of all of us when Felix stopped. Fianna and Goerge looked at me curiously, wanting and answer but I gave them the same look before are eyes darted over to Felix, who was setting Emma on the ground. He pulled out his phone and started messing with it.

"No! No! No..." He yelled after a few minutes, then walked off to the side of the road. He began to pace back and forth, holding his phone tight, until he ended up sitting in the middle of the road with his hands in his hair and elbows on his knees. I slowly walked over to him and tapped his shoulder. Before I could say anything, loud groans and growls came from the other side of the road.

I grabbed Felix's coat collar and pulled him to his feet, shoving his pack in his hands. He grabbed a mag from his backpack and slid it between his pants and belt, then pulled out his gun. Emma, George, and Fianna lined up beside us and pointed their guns. We were all scared but we all tried to hide it.

Emma's breathing was heavy, my head was spinning, Felix and George were shaking, and Fianna was trying to steady her breathing. I knew we all wanted to run but that wouldn't do any good for anyone. The zombies could run to.

Everyone's hands were shaking but we kept the steadiest hands we could. Felix moved Emma a bit behind him and Fianna did the same with George but George took a step in front of her.

Red eyes were the first thing I noticed as they walked out of the woods. They made their way towards us with an evil passion.

"Don't waste ammo!" Felix shouted, drawling the zombies attention more to him.

We all backed up to the other side of the road before firing. I finished my first mag and quickly reloaded. Half of the twenty or twenty-five zombies were dead. They were all still coming at us fast. I covered others as they spread out to reload. I hoped they were doing the same.

"CRY! BEHIND YOU!" I heard Emma yell.

I quickly whipped around as one of the zombies grabbed my arm. I pulled my gun to its head and pulled the triger. But all I heard was a click and the thing tackled me to the ground.

"Hey!" I yelled at the zombie as I beat it in the head with my gun.

Luckily, they next shot fired was bye Fianna and went straight throw the zombies head. The blood splattered over my face as the body collapsed on top of me. I pushed the body off of me as everyone covered me. I have to say, I'm thankful for them.

I unzipped my new green jacket and revealed my two ammo/weapon belts. All I had was ammo that I didn't have the guns for, grandees, and an axe.

Oh, the battle axe. My best friend in many games. "Muhahaha..." An evil laugh escaped me, as I pulled it out.

There were a few zombies that I noticed. They had strayed to the right, away from were everyone was shooting. I charged over and held my axe over my head, ready to strike. I brought it down hard upon the head of the first zombie and it fell to the ground, the axe still in its decaying head. Hum this is the first decaying one. Most of them just had paled skin, glowing red eyes, and they want to eat you. This one actually looked more like a "zombie" from games like umm The Walking Dead or something. I pulled out the axe and moved on to the next one, dismissing it. This one was decaying to. How weird.

I did the same with the other two zombies as I did with the first. All the zombies were dead and no one was hurt.

Emma took a puff from her inhaler and shoved it back in her pocket. Felix put up his gun and pulled out his phone, staring intently at it as Emma went over to him. George took a few deep breaths and put up his gun. Before I new it Fianna was walking over to me, as I stood there with my axe on my shoulder.

"Are you okay?" I asked her, running a hand down her arm.

She smiled and leaned on my shoulder a bit. "I'm fine. Are you?" She calmly asked.

"Yeah, I'm all in one piece...I'm more worried about Felix." I pointed ahead to Felix, who was pacing around again.

"Let's go check on him then." Fianna said. I walked a few steps ahead of her as we walked up to Felix. What was going on with him?

He came to a stop in the middle of the road and I peered over his shoulder and looked at his phone.

"I love you, baby. Plz be safe and text back." Felix sent right before he whipped around to look me right in the eyes. He's eyes were red and watery. I think he was trying his best to hold in his tears. To be truthful, he's doing better then I think I could in this situation.

"You okay man?" I asked.

"Yeah... yeah, I'm fine." He said, and walked off to get Emma. Felix gently grabbed Emma's hand and started walking again.

He has completely and definitely became her father figure by now. It was actually kinda weird. I never saw Felix as the "daddy" type. But people can surprise you I guess.

So, now we have new problems. Felix is attached to Emma, Emma is attached to Felix, I'm liking Fianna more and more, George definitely likes Emma, we're all edgy and freaked out by the zombies still, the kids can't defend themselves do to lack of ammo, and only two people have guns with ammo. I have a "battle axe" and I'm completely fine with it, but guns are very handy with long range. Axes? Not so much. I know none of us can stop any of this, but getting attached is always a bad think. None of us, including me, can say shit though. We've all become attached, or already were attached, to someone in this group. The only advantage to this, is that we give a shit about each other. I, personally, am ready to put my life on the line for anyone here. Even George, he may hate me but I'm not leaving him for dead anytime soon. Plus he's got a reason, he wants his sister to pay attention to him, not some guy they just met.

After about an hour of walking, "So, Cry huh..." came to my ears as Fianna nudged me.

"What?" I asked, a bit confused.

"Your Cryaotic, right?" She hardly showed a smile. My attempt to for a sentence epically failed. "That's what Emma called you at least." I studied her, trying to get a good reading of her reaction. "Cool. I liked your videos." She showed her smile, still maintaining a nonchalant demeanor. I stopped and kinda just looked at her. She only glanced back for a second but I could see her grin and hear the giggle. I liked that answer! That was like....wooh.

I ran to catch up with her. "Woh woh wooh." I pulled her by the shoulder a bit. "'Cool'?"

"Yeah. Cool." She nodded and walked up with her brother.

"Cool..." I mumbled under my breath with a slight smile. Dang! She's awesome! Like...dang! I'm fanboying over a girl. So we've come to that. Nice...

"Are you guys ready for a break?" Felix asked.

Finally, a break! We haven't stopped since we left that grocery store. That would be about four hours ago. "Sure. Might as well enjoy the cover while we have it." I said and walked over to a tree. I knew this was just going to consist of us strategizing and snacking but I got to get off my feet so, I'm for it.

We all got situated and snacked on some of the things that would go bad first, like the bologna and bread.

"Hey, can me and George walk around for a little bit?" I over heard Emma talking to Felix.

Sup Bros,

So, I'm setting stricter rules with my writing time. I've set a goal to were I have to write at least an hour a day. This means faster, longer chapters for you! Ideally speaking of course, but I'm hoping it will help me improve a little at least.

Thank you so much for reading, voting, commenting, sharing, or whatever you're doing as support!!!
