Chapter 12
POV: Marzia
We haven't picked up anyone new for awhile, at least not that I could see. Right before we entered Germany, an hour our so ago, they placed cloth sacks over our heads. We haven't stopped at all after that. I kept wondering why they did that.
"How are you doing?" A girl whispered to me. We had been talking to each other for awhile now and she seemed really sweet. She was the very last one to be dragged in here and restrained.
"I'm okay, Ashly. Just feeling a little sick." I admitted.
"I guess that's expected from a soon-to-be mother." I couldn't see Ashly, but I think she attempted a smile. She was so happy for me since I told her.
Earlier she had noticed me looking down at my stomach and smiling. I guess she kind of just suspected. I noticed her and decided to go ahead and tell her, which of course lead to the telling of both our life stories.
She was just a normal girl on vacation in Austria, looking for herself. Shes from a small town in Texas, were she lived with her parents, and she felt she needed to explore and get away from her small town. I guess he picked a pretty bad time to do so.
"So, where do you think we're going?" I hesitated to ask.
"Did you see the badges? I saw one and it was engraved in Swedish. I think it said something about Gothenburg, I don't know. I failed my Swedish studies." Ashly told me.
I got stuck on the word Swedish, my mind not even noticing she said Gothenburg yet. My mind went back to living with Felix in Sweden. We had so much fun, even tho we struggled financially. But it was still so much fun living alone with him and seeing him whenever I woke up. And continuing that in Italy was just as great.
Moving in with my parents just made things easier for us, even tho my parents weren't exactly happy about Felix's job. It also took them awhile to get uses to his gaming tactics: screaming, cursing, talking to random things, and yelling at the game. You know the normal stuff.
**Flash Back**
I was on our bed, on all fours, looking down at Felix, smiling. I was thinking about if I should scare him awake or just try and drag him out of bed. Dragging him wasn't as fun and seemed harder so a crouched my body down low, preparing my arms and legs to pounce.
My baggy shirt dangled onto the bed along with my hair as I built up power and steadied myself on the bed.
I sprung myself into the air. "Good morning!" I shouted before landing on his stomach.
His eyes shot open as the air left his body, causing him to grunt loudly. I tried, and failed, to hold back a laugh. He looked at me and pouted.
I smirked and sat criss-cross on his waste line. "Morning!" I sang.
"Good morning." He still sounded winded. I giggled and his pouty face turned to a smirk. He grabbed my arms and pulled me onto the bed. "Now lets go back to sleep." He said as he nuzzled up to me. I giggled once again as he pulled the cover over us. How could I say no to him?
**End of Flash Back**
"Marzia? Are you okay?" Ashly asked, pulling my from my thoughts of Felix.
I shook my head slightly, as if to shake off the thought. Thank God she couldn't see the tears striking my face.
I cleared my throat and sniffled, "Um yeah, j-just thinking."
"Hey! Shut up!" One of the guards yelled at us.
We both flinched and huddled next to each other.
"Were you thinking about Felix?" Ashly whispered close to my ear. I shook my head yes against her shoulder. "Don't worry, Marzia. We'll all be okay." She lied to me, but I took the lie and made it into the truth in my head.
I didn't say any thing to her after that and she didn't say anything to me. We stayed huddled close together as the vehicle rolled down the streets.
