Sean's POV:

"I-i thought he was my d-dad."

My breath hitched at the sound of her words.

Ding.

I quickly took my phone out of my pocket, mentally patting myself on the back for putting on a water proof case and opened a text.

Gabe: take care of her

The text alone reassured me that I gained Gabe's trust again and I now have peace in mind.

Me: I will

Me: I'll be sure to bring her back home before the weekend ends, is that fine?

A couple seconds later, he replied.

Gabe: no problem

I clicked my screen off and brought my attention back to Naomi.

"Let's get out of here?" I held my hand out in front of her to take.

She looked up from the ground and took it. I carefully pulled her up and on her feet. She quickly dusted off her knees and hands that stuck on her.

"Ready?" I held my hand out again.

"Ready." She replied, with her voice husky and low from crying.

She took my hand and we hand in hand started walking back to the party scene. I could tell she was still shaken up whenever I would look back at her and all I wanted her to feel was safe.

So I took my hand and intertwined our fingers together. I looked back at her to see her looking back up at me, and slowly a smile from from the corner of her lips.

I'm keeping my promises this time, Naomi.

"Serris!" I called out to my sister who was laying on a beach chair.

"What?" She turned my way and withdrew her sunglasses from her eyes.

Her gaze moved from my face to my hand which was in Naomi's and she smirked.

"Oh hey!" She said all perky.

"Oh whatever, Serris." I rolled my eyes. "Can you please drop us home?"

"But the party's not over yet." She whined.

"It is for us, okay?" I replied mentally exhausted.

"Fine." She huffed as she grabbed her beach bag and started walking to our car.

Naomi and I followed swiftly behind her as I already forgot where we parked. As soon as we found the car Serris unlocked the car and I opened the back seat for Naomi. She mouthed a "thank you" and deattached our hands and went in.

I closed the door and turned around to my sister smirking at me, "so are you guys a thing now or?" She wiggled her eyebrows at me, teasing me.

"No, Serris." I pushed her away with my hand on her face and she just laughed walking away.

The drive home was extremely quiet that all we could hear is the road rubble Serris was driving on.

"Here you go, hurry because I wanna head back to the party." Serris said as she put the car on park.

"Alright." I replied. "Let's go, Naomi." I said as I opened my car door.
