Naomi's POV:

After spending the rest of our 3rd period in detention for coming late to our classes, I still couldn't help but realize the fact that Sean has been acting strange. He's been mumbling most of his words, constantly running his hands through his hair, and giving me minimal eye contact.

Which is... strange.

"Hey Sean?"

He hummed in response as we walk the busy hallway to lunch.

"Why are you acting weird?" I finally asked.

His eyes quickly glanced at me but brought his eyes back forward and said, "I'm not acting weird. I'm probably just hungry." He mumbles his last words.

"Then why are mumbling?" I raised my eyebrow at him even if he can't see since he's in the front of me.

"Because I'm hungry."

"I don't believe you." Now tugging his arm to stop.

He stops at his tracks and turns to face me.

"Look, I'm fine. I promise." He faked a smile.

It was completely obvious.

"Okay." I'll let this slide.

"Now let's go get lunch."

I nod in response and we continue our walk to our lunch table.

I find it funny how everyone remembers everyone's specific tables. No one steals anyones spot. You could be absent and still no one would sit in anyone elses' table, whether you're "popular" or not.

It just amazes me, I don't know.

We finally made it to our table when Gabe's voice rang through my ears from the left of me. I turned my head to his direction to see him looking disappointed at me.

I felt this coming.

"Detention? Why?" Gabe asked with his arms crossed.

"And why are people saying they saw you guys go in to the boys' locker room? And why are you wearing Sean's shirt?" He asked looking suspiciously at the both of us.

"I swear to god, Gabe, if you're thinking wrong here. I'm gonna punch you." Sean almost laughed.

"Hey, it adds up." Gabe jokes.

"What?" I asked in complete confusion on what the hell they're suddenly talking about.

"Nothing." Sean laughs.

"But seriously why did you guys have detention?" Gabe asks, holding back his laugh.

"We came late to our third periods." I replied.

He brings his eyes somewhere else and chuckles to himself, "I told you it adds up."

"Gabe, shut up." Sean laughs as he shoves his shoulder lightly.

I just look at them laugh at something I obviously missed, annoyingly.

"Can someone please explain why you guys are laughing?" I asked growing annoyed.

"It's okay, child." Gabe pats the top of my head like I was a dog and I swat his hand away.

"Whatever."
