Movie Night pt. 2

Shazam

It had been a hour since I've been standing here waiting for Amina! I've called her twice and there was no response. I walked back across the street to use the pay phone, and hoped someone would pick up. I put the quarter into the slot and dialed her house - again!

RING.

RING.

RING.

-Phone Conversation-

Person: Mr.Smith here, who am I speaking with?
Me: Hi Mr.Smith this is Solomon. I was supposed to meet your daughter a hour ago and she hasn't arrived. I wanted to know if she was still home?
Mr.Smith: Hi Solomon, my daughter left a hour ago with some boy. I think his name is Hakeem Duncan.
Me: Thanks Mr.Smith for letting me know.
Mr.Smith: Alright bye
-End of Conversation-

I slammed the phone back down on the receiver. I could feel the anger rising up in me so I just paced back and forth for a little bit. When I had calm down a little bit, I was about to head back across the street until something caught my attention.

There they were! Amina and Hakeem!

I ran back across the steer while yelling Amina's name. They both looked at me in shock and she was trying to hide behind Hakeem.

"It's been almost two hours since I was waiting on you! I was about to leave and but I decided to call your house again. Mr.Smith picked up and told me you had left a hour ago with this guy!" I said gesturing to Hakeem.

"Shazam I'm sorry." She said stepping in front of him. She tried to grab me but I stepped back.

"Nah you can stay here with dude and enjoy y'all date. You can lose my number too and am when you see me - Don't say shit to me." I told her straight up.

"SHAZAM!" She yelled catching the attention of a few people that was around us.

"And for you! Don't think I ain't telling Kaedi. I'm pretty sure she'll be happy to hear about this." I told Hakeem before walking away.

I headed back across the street and hopped in my car. I stared the engine and drove off pissed! I shouldn't have ditched my homies for some random broad.

Stacey

We were finally about to start the movie - Boyz N The Hood. I hit play on the VCR and grabbed a bag of potato chips and a hand full of Twizlers. I sat down on the floor next to Kadeem who was stuffing his face with a Twinkie.

Kaedi was sitting close to the door with Dino. They were feeding each other but I paid them no mind. Then Leah and Leonce were sitting in the middle of us. Leah had her head on Leonce's shoulder. GI sat on the couch by himself but he didn't seem bothered by all the couples in the room. Twenty minutes into the movie, the doorbell started ringing non-stop.

"Who the fuck could that be?!" Kaedi asked annoyed. She popped up and opened the door. To my surprise, Shazam walked in looking pissed off.

"What happened to your date?" Kaedi asked smirking as she popped a lollipop into her mouth.

"Move outta my way Kae." He said slightly shoving her. "Stacey meet me in the kitchen." He demanded.

Kaedi rolled her eyes closing the door and taking her seat back on the floor next to Dino. I excused myself from Kadeem and followed Shazam into the kitchen. I wasn't expecting what happened next though!
