So today Leonce and I are looking at potential adoptive parents. We've found three suitors that fit our criteria. We have the Johnson's, Williams', and the Smiths.

"We're down to the last family." I told Leonce placing the file in front of him.

"They seem like they have paper. And they seem like they can provide a good home, education and love. And it's dope that they'll let us visit the baby whenever we like. They're on the top of my list." He said reviewing their file again.

I had a shocked expression on my face. He actually seemed interested and down with the whole thing. I kissed his cheek and took the file from him. "So let's hop to it." I said getting up.

I went into the kitchen and got the Williams family. "We'll like to begin now." I told them and they followed me into the living room.

"Hi, I'm Leonce Smith." He said shaking each of their hands.

"I'm Karen Williams, nice to meet you." She said shaking his hand.

"Phillip Williams, nice to meet you." He said shaking his hand and we all took our seats.

"So we were reviewing your file and we're highly interested in you both adopting our baby. You fit our criteria perfectly but we also have questions." I told them.

"We'll answer any of your questions." Phillip said.

"What is the main reason that you want to adopt? And what does your family think about you both wanting to adopt?" Leonce asked.

"We have fertility issues. We've tried twice and miscarried twice. We tried everything and finally decided that adoption would be best." Karen told us.

"I'm sorry about your losses." I told her genuinely. She smiled sadly at me.

"Both of our family is on board with us adopting and they're very happy with it." Phillip told us.

"Are you religious?" I asked. "We're a Baptist family." I told them.

"We're a Pentecostal family." Karen said.

"What do you think makes a good parent?" Leonce asked.

"That's a great question actually." Phillip stated. "I think what makes a good parent is spending time with your child. Knowing how to say no to certain situations, being a great role model, and showing your child unconditional love no matter what." He said smiling.

I smiled at his response and looked at Leonce. Leonce nodded in agreement with me. "Only a few more questions." I told them.

"When the time comes, how will you explain to the baby about his adoption?" Leonce asked.

"We actually decided that we don't want to tell the baby unless he or she brings it up." Karen stated.

"And if he or she does bring it up, we'll tell them the full story. Answer every question they may have." Karen added.

"That's all the questions we have. I'd have to say I'm very impressed. If you get a call from us in three days, it means we've chosen you." Leonce told the Williams.

"We'll be looking forward to that call." Phillip said hopeful.

"Thanks for putting us in your top three. I hope we're the family you decide to pick." Karen said before heading out the door.

I locked the door and took my seat on the couch next to Leonce again.

"So who did you decide on?" I asked him.

"I think all the families are pretty dope. The Johnson's came in as the second choice for me. My pick is the Williams family. They both have great careers and they seem like they down for it. Story was pretty sad though." He said.

I nodded my head in agreement. "It was sad and I like them a lot. I felt a good vibe about them. The Smiths didn't seem to care too much. I vote the Williams family too." I told him.

"So we'll call them and let them know." Leonce said.

"In three days though. Let the anticipation set up." I told him and we both laughed.

"They gonna be happy as hell." He said.

"I gotta tell my folks about this soon." I told him.
