The Date

The past couple of days seem like they took forever to go by, but that's only because I was anxious about Friday. I told Harmony to clear her calendar for Friday, which I should have known she had already done it.

Once Friday came, for the first time I was excited, nervous, but yet highly anticipating for this day to arrive. I went into the office around one because it wasn't actually a workday. I used that time to follow up on some more cases. Of course, Harmony's eyes sparkled when she saw me with my blue suit on.

"Well don't we look sexy today!"

"Harmony don't start." They both smiled.

"Ok, I would like full details by Monday boss."

"Depending on how well it goes."

"Girl please." She waved me away. 

"You've been smiling since Monday, so you might as well embrace this moment!"

"I am and I will."

So the time finally came. It was time to kill this suspense that was really getting beside me. I am going on a date with Jonathan Sanchez. My nerves were getting the best of me, but I had to play it cool. As I got down the elevator I saw a limo parked outside and a driver with a sign with my name on it.

Well, he has really outdone himself, I thought to myself.

I walked outside and I smiled at the driver.

"Ms. Carter are you ready?"

"Certainly!"

Ok is this another Christain Grey I chuckled to myself, but he was sadly mistaken if he thinks he can control my life. This would be the first and last date if that was his thoughts.

I looked out of the window and noticed we were outside of Mimi, one of the best restaurants in DC, and then the door opened and our eyes met. OMG, he was more attractive than I could ever dream of. He had on a navy suit almost identical to mine.

Ha, how funny, but yet cute I thought.

He extended his hand for mine and I followed his lead.

" You look amazing, he said as he hands me just one long stem yellow rose. I hoped you like the other flowers I sent you."

"Thank you, Jonathan. As a matter of fact, I did" What a pleasant surprise I said, as my inside sounded like cheerleaders at a football game.

"You have good taste in restaurants," I said.

"And good taste in women because I do believe I have Washington's most beautiful and talented woman on my arm."

We both smile and enter the restaurant.

We were greeted at the door by this nice young hostess. She looked like a young college student in her early twenties. I could see the lil twinkle in her eye when she saw Jonathan so I decided to hold him just a little closer just for extra coverage. I saw him smile as he said Sanchez party of two.

"Yes, sir right this way." She said.

"That was cute Ms. Carter."

"I have the slightest idea what you're talking about."

She leads us to a private section of the restaurant. It was candles everywhere. It was almost to romantic to be real, but so far he's off to a good start.

"May I start you off with a drink before you order?"

"What is the wine special for tonight's menu?" he asked

Today is Merlot white wine with just a splash of pineapple juice. It's actually the famous drink here. Would you like to try it?

"Ms. Carter?" He asks with a smile on his face.
