Jonathan and I have been working countless hours gathering witnesses, and evidence for the murder of Reginald Lawson. It took us years to finally catch up to Stitches and J.B the two most notorious members of CAB. They had that I don't give a shit attitude which made it extremely hard to gather witnesses because no one talked to the men in blue and definitely wasn't talking out of fear. Jonathan and his team walked every inch of Central Ave. The gang was always laughing at us because they knew we had no leads. It was very frustrating, but we weren't going to give up. Although he was a grown man, he was still a father, a husband, and someone's son, so it was our duty to bring closure to his family.
We had been tracking C.A.B for a while, and their body count was already over the hundreds. I'm not sure who I despised the most CAB or their rivals 5th Street Boyz. The more people they've killed, the stronger they got. Hell, I didn't know if they were a gang or a cult because they seemed to multiply like every day. Their leader Frederick Hopkins aka Blaze was what I would like to call the hitman. Hell, all he has to do was snap his finger and the job would be done with no hesitation. He was untouchable because technically he never actually stepped foot on the crime scene, but we know that he ordered all the hits that were carried out by the gang.
Jonathan brought me the pictures of the crime scene, and this one I can tell was done out of rage and pure hate. Three gunshots directly to his head point range, according to the medical examiner's report. OMG, what did you do to piss them off, I asked myself as we went through the photos. As if the shots weren't bad enough, these bastards burned his body. That's what I mean about these boys...kill or be killed, they just don't care.
From what I've gathered Reggie is the ex-husband of Blaze's new girlfriend. He was stalking her so Blaze took care of it, but again there's no proof that he was there."
Great the worse lover triangle. "Where is this girlfriend? I need to talk to her!"
"Jessica, if it was that easy she'll be here, but she's gone into hiding and just like any other witness. It's like finding a needle in a haystack trying to locate her! I'm not sure if she's hiding out of fear, or if CAB made her invisible on purpose."
"I need her to make the case solid Johnathan!"
"Don't you think I know that! I'm bringing you what I have!"
"I know. I apologize for being testy, but I really want this prick to fry."
"I know, and we will get him, and I apologize for snapping."
C.A.B first started back in the early seventies under the leadership of Carlos Santiago. He was an illegal immigrant from Cuba. He and his brother Roberto started the gang with just his brother and a few of his cousins who were also immigrants. Being the fact they weren't legal, it was hard for them to maintain a steady job so they made their ends meet the best way they knew how...DRUGS!!
They lived in this little house on the corner of Central Avenue so that's basically where they developed their name.
Carlos made a name for himself in the early eighties. Soon he was the biggest drug lord in D.C., CAB went from four to hundreds and they've spread out from coast to coast from what I hear. His brother Roberto was his right-hand man. Nobody could see, touch, or talk to Carlos unless they go through Roberto first. Yea, just like the Bible, but more on the opposite end. You had to come correct or you will be made an example of what not to do.
One thing I can say about them is, they are loyal, and they were one big happy dysfunctional trigger happy family.
C.A.B wasn't like your typical gangs. They didn't jump or sexed you in, you had to stack up against you BC or body count. The more you kill the higher the rank, and the busier I got trying to put them away. They were like roaches. You couldn't see them at night, but once you turn on the light they were everywhere, and it was getting on my last nerves. Between them and their rivals 5th Street Boyz, I had my hands full.
My first case was the shooting at the county fair between CAB and 5th Street. Apparently, words were exchanged and so were bullets. Seven people were injured and one of Carlos's cousins was killed.
They didn't believe in calling the police, because they have weapons on their own. Needless to say, Carlos and several members of CAB took matters into their own hands. It was a bloodbath on 5th Street between CAB, 5th Street, and the police. In total eight people were killed including Carlos, two of his cousins, three members from 5th Street, two cops, which I later found out one of them was Jonathan's father. I could see it in his eyes that he was still hurting from it. It was a complete mess, but that was part of the job.
Although Carlos was dead that just made the gang even stronger. They carried out their mission and spread overnight. As much as I would love for them to just take themselves out that was the inhuman side of me. I still had a case to solve because that was somebody's child that was murdered at the fair that day and I had to bring closure to his family.
I was busy working on the case of Alberto Santiago, the cousin of Carlos, he had been hit a total of four times during the fairground massacre and I was working on case. The autopsy photos showed that two of the bullets went straight through his heart, shredding it like paper. Although he was a part of C.A.B it was still a homicide. We know that 5th Street was responsible, but we had to find out who pulled the trigger. That sent the city in a panic and outrage. People were angry but too afraid to talk. Jonathan and I grew closer and closer the more we worked together. To be honest with you, I was actually finding myself spending a life of happiness with him. We've been on enough dates to the point where everybody knew we were a couple before we made it official. He was so headstrong and intelligent that it wasn't hard to fall head over heels in love with him.
"Sweetheart where did you go?" He asked.
"I'm right here with you baby you know that."
"Ok well let's wrap this up so we can head out to dinner."
I totally forgot we were going out to meet up with some of our friends for our one year anniversary. I was the happiest girl on the planet.
****Guess who's back! Ok don't get mad because it's taking me a while to update, but I going to try to give you at least one more chapter...keep voting and please leave a comment. What you like and don't like encourages me****
