The first place I go is Jessica's office to retrace her last steps. I also have them check the security cameras to see if I can see anything. I have them run a full perimeter of her office all the way to the garage and then my worst fear came true. There's blood where her car is parked. I fall to my knees and begin to cry. What have I done? Please let her be ok.
"Jonathan don't you worry. We will get her back and we will nail the coffin shut on this SOB."
My mind is spinning like a hurricane. I want him dead and I'm willing to be the man with the gun. Just then my phone rings. I have everyone stop moving and I put the call on speaker so everyone could hear.
"Sanchez speaking."
"Having fun yet Detective?"
"Where's my wife asshole?"
"She's quiet for now!" He laughs.
"I don't see what's so funny. When I find you, I'm going to kill you.
"You mean If. That's how this thing works. The longer you take to find her, the fewer chances she has to live. You wanted to play, so let the games begin. Oh and as for Angela, well she was no good to the both of us so I did to her what I can't wait to do to your wife. Your time starts now. You have forty-eight hours. Let's see just how good you really are at what you do!"
This bastard wants to play, well game over! I'm going to gut him like a fish and watch him bleed out slowly!
"Sanchez who is Angela? My Captain asks. We need to go to the precinct and I need you to tell me everything. I need to know what we're up against. I'm not sending my men out here because of your mistakes. Let's go! He orders. CSU can handle everything here."
I ride in silence trying to concentrate. I have to get a unit over to find Angela as well. I have ruined everyone's life around me. I have to tell Captain but I don't know where to begin. This is really happening. I'm in jeopardy of losing everything.
Once we arrive at the station Captain calls me in his office and he wants full details.
Cap was like having another father around so I couldn't lie to him. I came clean and told him everything. He just sat there. I couldn't read his emotion, but I could tell he was mad from his body language.
"Are you out of your mind? What would persuade you to cheat on your wife? Do you know anything about this woman? Out of all the stupidest things Jonathan! Yea you're in a mess and you better figure out how to make it right!"
"I know sir. I wasn't thinking"
"Obviously! "
Cap, I have to get my wife back. I can't live without her. I don't know what to do sir!"
Just then CSU came in and told us that they found Angela's body in her hotel room. She was strangled to death with a note attached.
"Don't let what happened to your girlfriend happen to your wife. The clock is ticking."
"Yea you really messed this up! I really wished your wife hadn't taken that case. This asshole is not to be messed with. I don't like this Jonathan, but Jessica is one of our own so we got your back on this. Let me call in a favor to the FBI because this is a high priority case. But after the smoke clears we will talk about this because this is not what we stand for, and you have to be dealt with. There will be consequences for your actions. Now we have to gather as much evidence as possible and get ahead of this punk. He said we have forty-eight hours so let's get the ball rolling.
We arrive at my house and we search through everything. I watch the surveillance tape to see if I could see anything. I can't believe I'm watching my wife's few moments of her life being taken away. She didn't even see him coming. I feel sick so I rush to the bathroom to throw up. I stand there looking at myself in the mirror. I can't stand what I see. I clean myself up and head to her study and see that she has an email. I open it and I'm knocked off my feet. It's a picture of Jessica bound and gagged and the email said.
"Had you not bothered me, I wouldn't have to bother you, but you took something from me so I had to take from you."
She looks like she's been drugged. The captain walks in and he sees the shock on my face. He looks at the monitor and sees the email. He forwards it over to the FBI unit and have them run a trace on it.
"Johnathan get yourself together! He's trying to get in your head and you're allowing it. Now get yourself together. You use this as ammunition to get your wife back. This could be real but we're going to treat it as if it isn't. I need you to be calm and focused at all times. If you get off track, that's how mistakes happen. Now are you with me, let's go get this asshole and get your wife back."
Even though my wife was involved I treated this like any other case. That's how I remained focused. I had to get into his head instead of the other way round. I needed to find out who Ramon Chico Carnilla really was. Where he hung out, his favorite restaurants, and all the stash houses. If I can track him then I can find her.
I get a few suits to ride through the neighborhood under covers, looking to buy and possibly gathering information. I use that as my first day. The more information I can gather, the more I know whom I'm dealing with. I continue with my regular routine as hard as it is, but that's just in case I'm being followed. I want his reporters to act as if everything is normal, to throw him off a little. I must admit when I go home I do cry because the reality is, this is all my fault. I also have to call and tell her parents. I'll wait and call them tomorrow. I'm just not ready to deal with the family as of right now. I go to her study to check her email and sure enough, he has sent one.
Detective,
"Your wife is stronger than I thought and a helluva fighter. I had to shut her up just to teach her a lesson. You want me, come and get me, but be careful."
See ya soon
I can't wait to get my hands on him. Whatever he's done to my wife I'm going to do to him if not worse. I just sit there and take it all in. This is truly happening. I can't believe this is happening. Because this is one of our own I have round the clock security, but that still doesn't put my mind at ease. I take a shower and try to calm down but all I could think about was Jess and what she must be going through. I really can't sleep so I decided to keep looking through the files to see if there was anything that jumped out at me and my eyes were starting to cross. I must've dozed off because I looked at the clock and it was three-thirty in the morning. I woke up to get a cup of coffee when one of the officers on duty asked me was I ok. He said I was locked in the study for five hours. I told him I was fine and I went back to study. I went back to all the emails to see if I could see a pattern or anything. I'll have CSU run a trace on it first thing in the morning. I do have a little info from what my under covers tell me. Chico owns like four warehouses but they're secluded so it might take days to find them and the clock was ticking. I had a strong feeling that she could be at one of them. I was determined to do what I had to do to get her back. Nothing or no one was going to stop me.
*•*•* Well I must say that I've impressed myself. My mother used to always say that there are always consequences for every action and I do believe that Detective Sanchez sees that now. Now he is living in a nightmare that he helped create. One more chapter left. Turn the page it gets better. Again thank you all and don't forget to ##Vote and ##Comment...
