Kurt's POV

I was sitting next to Mercedes with the rest of the female New Directions at lunch. Mercedes was laughing at something Rachel had said when Brittany poked me.

"Hey, unicorn Kurt."

I rolled my eyes and turned to face her. "Yes, Brittany?"

"Where's the small girl that looked like Rachel that you were hanging out with earlier?"

"What?" Rachel leaned over the table. Thank goodness she was wearing a turtleneck.

"Yeah. It was some weird girl who looked kinda like you!"

"Her name's Kirsten. She's pretty cool. She said she'd be coming along soon..." I looked at the door. The football guys walked in, but that was all. They threw away the empty slushie cups and sat down for lunch.

Wait. Football guys. Slushies.

Kirsten.

"Crap!" I whispered and stood up.

Mercedes grabbed my arm. "Yo, Kurt. What's up?"

"Kirsten! I think the football guys got her. Come on!"

Rachel, Brittany, Mercedes, and Tina all stood up and followed me out of the lunch room. Finn caught my eye and I just shook my head. He nodded a little, but still looked troubled.

I heard sobs coming from down the hall. The five of us looked at each other. Then we took off running.

Kirsten was curled up in the fetal position in a puddle of red, blue and green liquid, spilling out around her like multicolored blood. She was crying quite loudly, but she didn't seem to notice.

"Kirsten!" I ran over to her and grabbed her by the shoulders.

"Aunt...please, get Aunt Emma..."

Kirsten's aunt wrapped a towel around Kirsten's shoulders as she sat down. I sat next to her on her aunt's couch and put my arm arond her. She immediately leaned into me.

"I thought Da-David was better than-that..." she hiccupped quietly. I rubbed her shoulder.

"David Karofsky? Well maybe he is, maybe it was just a show," I said. I didn't believe it, but I had to say something to make her feel better.

"Maybe..." She sniffled again and sighed. "Can you hand me my phone?"

Her aunt picked it up from the table and gave it to her. Meanwhile, I looked outside the glass. There were the girls, throwing sad glances towards Kirsten. Rachel was talking to Finn and they were both looking at us. Finn gave me a half smile and I smiled back. Puckerman was looking off into space like he didn't care-which was probably a true statement.

Kirsten sighed next to me. "Thank you, Kurt. I owe you big time."

I shook my head. "Kirsten, trust me. You don't owe me anything."

A knock on the door startled us. Brittany and Santana stood there with a teddy bear. Brittany saw me looking and waved then pointed at Kirsten. Miss Pillsbury let the two in and Brittany said, "Hi Rachel's twin!" Santana then smacked her in the back of the head.

"I've been trying to tell her you aren't related to Rachel, but she won't listen. Sorry." The brunette Cheerio shrugged and took the bear from Brittany, who was rubbing her head and looking out the window. "This is for you. Rachel's telling all of the New Directions what happened because she think's you're our key to success."
