Michaels pov
My alarm went off at 8am signaling that I had to get up. I got dressed and reluctantly looked at my phone.Ashton:
Just tell us where you areEveryone is worried
Michael
Answer us
Calum:
This isn't funnyWe are all really worried
Luke:
What won't we understand?Make us understand
We want to help you
And finally Morgan:
I love youIt relieved me to know she still loved me. I wish I could tell them but I was protecting them this way.
I walked to work since it wasn't very far. It was only a cashier job so I knew what to do since I use to work at a place like this.
An hour into work I was leaning against the counter bored out of my mind. No one had come in a while. My phone buzzed, it was Morgan. I answered. She deserved to know some of it. I would tell her what I could without breaking the deal I had with the figure.
"Michael is it really you?" I could tell that she had been crying.
"It is me" I said quietly.
"Oh my god" she let a sob escape her mouth. "Where are you?" She asked quickly.
I could hear people talking in the back ground and the jingling of car keys.
"I can't say" I said sadly.
"What?" All the hope drained from her voice. "Michael" she whispered.
"I can't say much but what I will tell you is that I'm doing this to protect you. It's not my choice to be away from you but I have to. You'll get hurt if I come back" I explained.
I wanted her to understand why I was doing this but it's hard because I can't tell her anything and she isn't in my position. She didn't have to make a quick decision like I did. She didn't have to restart her whole life again.
"Come back" her voice cracked and I could tell she was crying again.
"I can't baby" I whispered. "Believe me I want nothing more than to come home and be with you and hold you and see you smile and laugh but I just can't. I'll explain it some day" I said fighting my own tears.
We could be watching a movie and cuddling or going on a date or walking in the woods or just talking right now but we couldn't and it just didn't seem fair.
"Michael what the hell is wrong with you?" It was Ashton. "Come back. Can't you see how much this is hurting Morgan and Luke and Calum and me" he didn't seem as angry as when he first answered. "Morgan hasn't stopped crying. Just come home and spare us all this pain"
"I would love to more than anything but like I said before I can't. I'll be putting Morgan in danger"
"I'm done with your bullshit" he groaned.
I bit my lip and thought about giving Morgan a hint about where I am and why.
"Tell Morgan red ink" I said.
"Red ink?" He questioned.
"Just tell her please" my voice cracked as I hung up and buried my head in my arms.
