Morgan's pov
"Morgan" Ashton called.

I wiped my tears and followed the sound of his voice. He was holding my phone. He handed my phone back to me. I mumbled 'thank you' but never met his gaze.

I knew he had just talked to Michael and I felt like he was going to tell me horrible news. I had heard him yelling at Michael too. I felt bad for Michael since he had to put up with hearing him yell.

"Michael wanted me to tell you something" he said quietly. "He didn't say why or what it meant but I'm guessing you'll understand"

"Ok what is it?" I wasn't as nervous as before.

"Red ink" is all he said.

It hit me. I never thought that the figure that's been haunting me would have anything to do with Michaels disappearance.

I dropped my phone causing it to shatter. That wouldn't help me in the future but right now I didn't really care what happened to my phone. The only thing I was focused of was getting to my mom to explain everything.

"I know what to do" I said quickly rushing to the door.

"Wait what are you doing?" He asked grabbing onto me.

"I'm ending this once and for all"

I walked to the woods and once I was there I started yelling for my mom. If I was going to find the shadow I had to find my mom first. She knew more about this than I did and could help me.

"Morgan you called me?" My mom said when's she finally arrived.

"I need to take out this thing or whatever it is" I exclaimed waving my arms around.

"Michael is ok" she said softly.

"I know that" I snapped. "But he shouldn't have to run away because of this thing" I whined.

"Can I tell you something?" I nodded and her question.

"He's doing it to protect you. It threatened your life and he left to keep you alive" she said.

I had tears in my eyes. He left his entire life so I could keep mine. He gave up everything just for me.

"Morgan?" My mom questioned since I had been zoned out.

"I love him so much" I cried falling against my mother.

"I'm gonna help you get him back don't worry" she said matting my hair down.

We spent the whole night in the woods talking and trying to figure out what a good plan would be to end this.

We hit dead end after dead end but we never gave up. Everything had to be perfect if we wanted to kill it and perfect is hard to get.

My mom agreed to help me and she said she would ask my dad if he would join.

I always wondered if anybody else could see the dead or if I could see other dead people. It's something I would try to find out.
