Michaels pov
Today was the day I had to go to court about the accident. Didn't they know it was an accident? The police did because of the cameras on traffic lights but the family still thinks I killed their son. When I got there my mother came to me crying. I hugged her and started talking to my father. He assured me that I wouldn't get in trouble but it still felt like I would.
After swearing to tell the truth I sat on the witness stand.
"What were you doing on the roads that day?" They asked first.
"I was going to visit my parents" I looked towards my mom and dad but I saw someone next to them. Not just anyone.
The person I had been wanting to see since I left.
The person I loved more than anyone.
The person I wanted to see here.
That person was the one and only Morgan Patterson.
I smiled at her and focused on the questions that I had to answer. I felt better knowing Morgan was here but that feeling was replaced with fear when I thought about what could happen if the shadow found out about this.
I was proved not guilty like my dad and everyone said. The family was angry about it but I didn't really care. I was angry at them for bringing me to court.
Morgan and my parents were waiting outside when I got there. Morgan jumped into my arms smiling. My parents stood behind her smiling.
"I missed you so much" I heard her say.
"You have to understand" I said releasing her so I could look into her eyes.
"I do" she smiled. "My mom told me everything" she said quieter so my parents wouldn't hear.
"Thank god" I breathed out pulling her close again and kissing her.
"So Michael would you like pizza?" My mom asked.
"When do I ever not?" I asked in a duh tone.
"How could I forget?" My mom said laughing and shaking her head back and forth.
I smiled at Morgan before grabbing her hand and lacing my fingers through hers.
We walked to the pizza place since it was close by and sat by the window. I kept my arm around Morgan's waist. I was afraid of loosing her.
"Won't something bad happen?" I whispered in her ear as I tightened my grip.
"It told you to leave town right?" I nodded.
"Then I don't see a problem. Your in a different town" she smiled pecking my lips.
"I'm so glad you came"
"I'm glad I did" she pecked my lips once more before starting a conversation with my mom.
My parents still thought I was living with Morgan. They had no idea about what had happened and I didn't plan on telling them.
