What Is This?!

26 Food and War

It is food time! Haru and I gets out of the pool to the table of food... well sandwiches and soda. Good enough.

Haru was reluctant to leave though. Either way, I pass him a sandwich and a soda. I take two sandwiches and a soda.

Suddenly, I hear... crying? I hear it from the house. I turn to look at the sliding door.

Oikawa walks out , but he isn't the one crying. He rolls his eyes and sighs. He mutters, "That chibi is always steering up trouble." He continue toward the table with the sandwiches where I am with Haru.

Oikawa takes a look at the sandwiches, but he just takes a soda. He looks at me with a smile.

I ask, "What happened?"

He sighs, "Nothing big..." He looks at Haru from behind me. "I think you should tell him to slow down or he'll choke."

Haru says with a filled mouth, "The less time I eat, the more time I get to be in the pool."

I sigh and shake my head. I stuff a piece of sandwich in my mouth. I scowl, "Don't escape my question with your charm!" I swallow my up sandwich. "What happened?"

He scoffs, "It doesn't concern you."

"Someone is crying," I say feeling bad for that person. "They need help."

"It's Hinata," Tempest says from nearby. She stands up from her chair. She goes up to Oikawa witg Yachi trailing behind. She must've seen him walk out the house. "What happened, Oikawa?"

Oikawa rolls his eyes at the repeated question. He opens his can and takes a sip. He finally answers, "Hinata is just feeling a little bit butt hurt."

Tempest scowls, "What did you do?"

Oikawa answers with a question, "Why does it have to be my fault?"

Tempest gives up on him. She starts her dash to the house leaving Yachi.

Yachi looks up at him, and he looks back with her with a certain look I didn't understand. But it makes her flinch.

"Done," Haru mutters. He is about to jump back in the pool when I grab his arm.

I suggests, "Wait a while. You're going to get a cramp." I turn back to Oikawa, who is still looking at and scaring Yachi. "Come on, Yachi." I grab her shaking hand. I pull both Haru and Yachi to a table. I sit my food on the table. I command, "Sit!"

Haru turns away and pouts, "Yes, King." Yachi just nods.

I go back to Oikawa and say, "Tell me exactly what happened."

Oikawa shrugs and smirks, "The chibi just saw something that he didn't want to."

Hunh? I am so lost. What did Hinata see that could make him cry?

♡Tempest♡

Tempest runs into the house. She can hear the sound of crying get louder as she goes down the hallway. She stops at a room seeing Kageyama and Hinata.

Hinata is on the floor crying as Kageyama sit on the bed looking at him guiltily.

Kageyama calls, "Hey... Hey, idiot."

Hinata peeks up at him with tears all over his face and face red. He doesn't answer.

Tempest finally runs in and goes to Hinata's side. She looks at Kageyama trying not to seem too angry that her little friend is crying. She asks, "What happened in here?"

Kageyama stands up and looks away from her. He looks harsh but embarrassed.

Tempest doesn't persue him. She wraps her arm around Hinata's shoulder. She sees that he has quieted down to a soft cry. She whispers, "Let's go."

Hinata nods.

They both get up and leave the room. They walk out to the backyard.

Tempest sees Alexis in front of Oikawa looking confused. Then she sees Hinata look at him.

In result, Hinata starts crying into her shoulder.

She doesn't want him to cry anymore, nor does she want to cause any trouble. She asks, "Want to walk to cool off your head?"

Hinata nods.

Tempest opens the gate seeing two familiar faces. She gasps, "Mr. and Mrs. SiSi!"

Mrs. SiSi asks, "Where is SiSi?" She shows the invitation to Tempest and Hinata.

Tempest only gasps. She steps back taking Hinata with her. She says nervously, "Um, I don't think I saw her." So much for staying out of trouble. She pulls Hinata into the backyard with her.

She sees SiSi in the pool with Levi.

Tempest lets go of Hinata and says, "Sorry, I'll get back to you! I need to save SiSi!"

Hinata nods like he understands. He says, "Do anything to help her. She's a dear friend, isn't she?"

She nods and runs up to SiSi at the edge of the pool. She says urgently, "Your parents are here! You gotta go!"

SiSi gasps, "What? How?"

She answers, "She has your invitation! Now go inside!"

Levi mutters, "This is bad." He lifts SiSi out of the pool as Tempest helps her out. He crawls out after her. The two run inside the house just in time for SiSi's parents to walk into the backyard.

Tempest slides the door closed behind her and says to them, "Nope. I don't see them anywhere."

Mr. and Mrs. SiSi nods sternly. The mom asks, "Where is the party thrower?"

Tempest tenses up. She knows that Kageyama is inside... where their daughter is at.

Suddenly, Kageyama opens the door from behind her. He says, "Uh... hi." He seems so awkward.

Mr. SiSi asks, "Have you seen SiSi?"

Kageyama looks around and shrugs. He says, "I don't think she came to the party."

The parents nod and walk out of the backyard. Once they are gone, SiSi and Levi goes out, and she says, "I have to go."

Levi nods handing her, her bag. He says, "I'll drive you to the library."

She replies, "Thanks."

The two leaves in a hurry.

Before Tempest knows it, Kageyama is gone. She looks around and sees him talking to Hinata. She quickly goes to them.

"... so sorry. I know teamwork for volleyball needs to be strong. I should've told you about Tooru and I..."

Hinata sniffs and wipes his eyes. He nods. "You call him by his first name too?"

Kageyama seems to panic. He says stumbling over his words, "Hinata... I can call you- I mean, you can, um... We are friends, so we can do that if you want..."

Hinata nods. He says, "Okay, I get it. Let's go, Tempest. I'm ready for that walk." He looks over at her seeming to look sad.

She replies, "Okay."

The two walk away together.

Oikawa cheers, "There goes, Tobio!" He goes to him leaving me. He wraps his arm around his shoulders. He asks, "Where is chibi?"

Kageyama says quietly, "He went for a walk."

Oikawa asks, "How about a game of pool volleyball?"

He nods, "Y-yeah."

Oikawa announces to everyone, "Who wants to play volleyball!"

Everyone mumble in response. I see other people, or lack there of, go to the pool. Haru and Yachi stays in place. I sit with them.

Haru says, "Open up."

I turn towards him and sees him holding my sandwich to my face. I scoff, "I can feed myself!"

He makes a pouty face.

I sigh, "Fine... I only eat free."
