44 Hiding Something

Haru and I are chilling at his house. He just finished feeding me Mackerel. Now we are sitting and watching tv while his arm sits around my shoulders.

Suddenly, the doorbell rings.

Haru sighs and gets up from the chair. He leaves me to go to the front door.

I try to listen in on what's going on, but I hear only muffles.

Before I could make out anything, Haru comes inside the room.

He says, "You should go."

I stand up and ask, "Why?"

Haru just shrugs and says, "I have something to do."

I sigh, "Fine." I may look like it, but I am not giving up easily on him. He is acting strange and is easy to see. I need to know what is going on with him.

Haru walks me to the door and gives me a goodbye kiss.

I turn my back to the door feeling salty in more ways than one. I start walking home. It isn't dark yet, but the sun is setting and fast. I go pass one house, then I jump into its bush. I have a good sight on his house.

I have to see what's going on.

She is home doing homework unlike the usual. She was feeling a little glum that she couldn't be with Levi. No one was home, and she was alone.

Suddenly, the doorbell rings. SiSi gets up and walks to the front door. She opens it and sees Mikasa. She greets, "Oh hey, Mika!"

Mikasa says with a calm smile, "Hey. Want some company?"

SiSi smiles. She says, "Sure." She lets her in. She guides her to her room. SiSi sits at her desk as Mikasa sit on her bed.

Mikasa asks,"So how are you doing?"

SiSi answers, "Ah, it was fine. I am a little lonely. Levi and I usually hang out after school."

Mikasa grimaces at the sound of Mr. Ackerman's name.

SiSi can tell that Mikasa doesn't like Levi. She decides to not to mention him anymore. She just asks, "So how was your day?"

Mikasa just shrugs. She looks away as if she was trying not to mention anything. She then asks, "Do you usually spend time with Mr. Ackerman like that."

SiSi is taken aback by her question. She thought that Mikasa wants nothing to do with him at all. She nods, "Well, yeah." She thinks for a moment then says, "Don't you hate Levi?"

In response, she just shrug again. She looks away.

Something is going in and SiSi wants to know what.

I peek from the bushes and see Haru open the door. Why the heck is he opening the door? Why is going on?

Suddenly, I see Makoto appear from around the house. What the heck is he doing here? Makoto has something in his scratched up hand. He walks up to Haru until he is in front of him.

Then I got a clear look of what is in Makoto's hand. A knife. I jump in place. I want to get out of place and run over to them, but I am too scared. I am afraid because Makoto is bigger than be. But not too long ago, Makoto attacked Haru and nearly drowned him! A whine escaped my lips because of my frustration.

Then something happens that I didn't expect. Makoto wraps his arms around Haru in a hug.

I can easily see the look on Haru's face. It is more pained than scared.

What the heck is Makoto doing to Haru?

Makoto puts the knife up to Haru's face. He whispers something.

Haru nods.

The two walks into the house.

What the heck is going on?!

SiSi says, "Okay, bye!" She waves to Mikasa from her doorway.

Mikasa waves, "Bye!" She walks away from the house.

SiSi closes the door and goes back to her room. She thinks about what Mikasa and her has been talking about. She notices that Mikasa was asking a lot of questions. She doesn't want to admit that it could possibly be because of Mr. Smith... Right?

She hate to thinks something like that could be true.

Suddenly, he cellphone rings. She picks it up and say, "Hello?"

Levi answers, "Hey, cutie."

SiSi squeals, "Oh hey, how was your work?"

He answers, "It's fine."

There is an awkward silence.

"SiSi," Levi says. "I need you to be careful. Mr. Smith was asking me questions about if I was close to anyone. He's a good friend, but I don't think he will back down. I think he has someone watching us."

SiSi asks, "Do you think it is someone close?"

He answers, "Probably."

She sighs, "I think I know who it is. But I don't want to believe it."

He guesses, "Mikasa?"

She says with disappointment, "Yeah."

Suddenly, she hear a beep from her phone. She looks at her phone and sees that it is Lexi. She says, "Hold on. Lexi is calling." She puts Levi on hold and says, "Hello?"

"OMG! MAKOTO IS AT HARU'S HOUSE! HE HAD A KNIFE! HE! I! KNIFE!"

"Lexi, Lexi calm down...Wait a knife?" SiSi says shocked.

And just like that, things become more intense. Alexis panics, SiSi gets shocked, and Levi listens and scowls. Then they come up with a plan.
