55 Big Mistake

It is the end of the school day. Haru and I are going to the pool for practice. Well, he is in the process of teaching me to swim free... properly.

Haru, Nagisa, Makoto and Rei goes to the dressing room, while I go to the other one that's basically abandoned because of th lack of girls in the swimming club. Yes, Makoto. He hasn't made any contact with me anymore, nor has he talked to me since the last incident. We only exchanged greetings. That's it.

When I get out after dressing into my swimming outfit, Haru runs out of the room and jumps into the pool.

I follow him in. I jump right into the freezing water to get used to it quickly. I begin to use what I learn from Haru to swim. I barely make it as I swim to the end. I stop where Haru makes his sixth stop at the end.

I ask, "Do you know what's going on with the two?" I watch as Makoto comes out stretching.

Kou comes out scowls, "Haru, stretch before you swim! You are sending a bad example for Alexis!"

Haru ignores her and whispers, "They haven't said a word to each other." His expression turns serious. "If they don't get along, then they will do terrible in relay."

I gasp, "Since when did you care about relay?"

Haru tilts his head.

I think for a moment. Haru hasn't been swimming as often and drama has been happening a lot occupy him. Wait... he has become human!

I suggest, "When your wrist fully heals, make sure you swim your butt off, okay?"

Haru nods. "No need to tell me twice. I am just using 'Rei Not Gay' drama to occupy me."

"Haru!" Kou scolds. "Take Alexis and stretch!"

Haru sighs, "Let's go." He and I gets out of the pool and went to where Makoto was. We began to stretch. As we stretch, Nagisa and Rei comes out. They continued stretching with us.

Immediately after we were done, Haru jumped into the water. Makoto starts swimming as well. Me, I watch Haru swim to understand the correct way to swim Free, but my attention wavered to Rei and Nagisa.

The two glance at each other. They look away with a "hmph!". Theh continue to slowly stretch.

Finally, Makoto gets out of the pool. He walks to them and sighs. He says, "You guys, I know you are angry at each other."

Nagisa and Rei glares at each other once again.

He continues, "In the past few weeks, I learned something." He takes a sigh before going on. "You shouldn't let a girl get in between your friendship." He growls under his breath, "No matter how much you want to tie her up and keep her in your basement."

"Hunh?" Nagisa and Rei says confused.

"Nothing. Nothing." Makoto laughs off. He turns to Haru and I and calls, "Haru, King, come here."

Haru swims to the side of the pool closest to the group. I walk over to them cautiously.

Makoto sighs, "Okay, team. I haven't been... the easiest person in a while but... I am sorry for my behavior. Haru."

"Hm?" Haru mumbles.

Makoto says with a little difficultly, "Sorry... for, you know... your wrist... and your legs... and taking advantage of you. I will learn my boundaries." He turns to me and calls, "King."

I mumble, "Hm?"

He apologizes, "Sorry for scaring you and trying to take your boyfriend away from you. Then trying to take you away from him." He finally turns back to Nagisa and Rei. He says, "Don't let your selfishness get in the way of your relationship."

Rei starts, "Thanks, Mako-."

"Rei," Makoto interupts with a smile. "Don't go out with a girl just because she is beautiful and that's it."

Rei pouts, "I'm not that dense."

"Right," Nagisa agrees. "I'm sure you made the right choice picking her. Sorry about everything, Rei."

"Thank you, Nagisa." Rei says. "I'm sorry for rejecting you, but-."

"-You like her," Nagisa finished. "Got it. It's fine."

And just like that, Makoto got Nagisa and Rei to make up... give or take the few bruises Rei already have gotten.

What a nice outcome.
