Chapter 7- Prisoner?

Jinx awoke slowly. Her vision was still blurry but she was awake. Jinx could make out black lines, from her heightened senses it smelled like metal, wood, and death. Also saltwater. 'Where in hell am I?' Jinx thought. 'Certainly not hell.'

Her vision came into focus slowly and she carefully sat up. Then when she deemed herself able, she stood up. Getting a better look at her surroundings. Jinx stopped looking when she spotted a skeleton leaning back in an old, wooden chair, using a boney finger to spin a ring of keys around.

'I can't control skeletons! How am I supposed to get out?' Jinx mentally yelled. Sadly, that made a terrible headache expose itself. Jinx went to rub her head but her hands wouldn't go past her shoulders. When she looked down at them, Jinx had metal cuffs on both wrists that had obsidian chains that were attached to the ground.

Now why would they make the chains obsidian and the cuffs metal? Jinx looked at the cuffs closer.
Bedrock. That made more sense.

Jinx sat back down and rubbed her head. The headache slowly went away. But came back when yelling came from the stairs.

"SHE WAS GOING TO ATTACK YOU!" A female yelled.

"I can hold my own!"Another answered. This one sounded familiar.

"You don't know that!" Another male.

  "You don't understand-"

"No, you don't understand." The female interrupted, "dark elf or not. You can't trust anyone or anything!"

"Then how can I trust you?" The male yelled back. Silence followed afterwards.

  "L-lane..." The female said.

"Don't, Macalla, I'll go and question her. Your staying her and running your dam ship." The stairs creaked as he made his way down the stairs to where Jinx was.

The skeleton stopped spinning the keys and looked towards the stairs. A boy, mostly likely around 17 or 20, came into view. He wore a dark green sweater vest and a black trench coat. His cargo pants were ripped at the knees and he wore combat boots that didn't quite reach halfway up his cafe.

Jinx watched as the skeleton walked up the stairs. Once the only one with her was the boy, she used her feet (that were surprisingly not tied down) to kick off the back wall of the cell and lunge at the boy.
She didn't get far though, she was pulled back by the chains.

Oh how she could summon her wings right now and use her strength to break free. But she couldn't, or they wouldn't trust her. Ever. It took most of her strength to keep them hidden, and even more to make her grey skin darker.

"Where did you come from?" Lane asked.

Jinx sat in the far corner, it wasn't really a plan. If he was going to torture her, he would have to come into the cell.

In reply Jinx only glared at him.

"If you tell me I could-..." He paused. "I can...I will, help you."

Lane continued when there wasn't a reply, "I've dealt with all kinds of people.. Angels, Elves, Nymphs, Dwarfs, animals...a Demon."

"Only one?" Jinx asked before she could stop herself, the fear in her voice was bold and unmissable. But Lane didn't seem to notice, or at least pretended not to.

"Yeah, only one. She was Echo's partner for running this ship. Ty was her first-mate, but Eline was her trusted friend. A second caption if you would." Lane said.
