It is now Saturday. Skate night was in a few hours and Ryan and I were in the kitchen as the twins were helping Sasha cook lunch.

"Mai Lee please, if I don't collect the tickets soon they will sell them to someone else!" Sasha said.

"And lunch won't cook itself!" She replied.

"Just give me the booking reference, I'll go get them." Tee offered.

"Get what?" Ryan asked.

"I've booked us tickets for skate night tonight and I need to get them before six!" Sasha replied.

"Skate night?!" I asked sharing a shocked look at Ryan.

"Yeah, why is there a problem?"

"No. No problems here. Marie?!" Ryan said standing up and nodding towards the door.

"Yep. Definitely no problems here!" I said awkwardly following Ryan up to his room, closing the door behind me.

"This ruins everything!" Ryan yelled in frustration as he plonked himself down onto his bed.

"No it doesn't" I said. He looked up at me hopefully.

"Look" I said sitting next to him. "Mai Lee has said we can go but at this rate, Sasha won't even be allowed out the house, let alone to skate night!"

"I hope your right cuz I was really looking forward to spending come time with ya, you know, privately?"

"Ryan it's a skate rink full of people. Hardly private!"

"I mean away from everyone here. I don't want them knowing every detail of us"

"And they won't. Seriously Ryan, I don't think you have anything to worry about."

My point was interrupted by the fire alarm going off. Ryan and I both jumped out of our seats and ran downstairs to see smoke pouring out of the kitchen.

"You left them to cook it?" Asked Tee who had just come back from town and had the tickets in her hand.

"We're sorry" said Tony and Billie in unison.

----------

As it turned out, Sasha old the twins to put dinner in the oven. They didn't put it in on time so they put it under the grill resulting in it completely burning.

Sasha, Tee, Toni and Billie were all now grounded which meant they couldn't ruin skate night for me and Ryan, and they couldn't come swimming tomorrow.

I was sat in the living room watching tv with Harry, Floss, Kazima and Tyler.

Bailey and Jody were arguing over a game of pool and everybody else was off doing their own thing.

Out of nowhere, Carmen grabbed my wrist.

"Ow get off my idiot!" I snapped at her.

"No. Your coming with me."

"What why?"

"Because I'm going to give you a makeover to impress Ryan at skate night."

"How did you know?"

"I just do. Now come on!"

I didn't really want too, but I knew there was no getting out of this. First Carmen went through my wardrobe and pulled out an outfit for me.

She got out a dark purple skirt and patterned black tights, a white vest top with a black and white checkered flannel shirt, unbuttoned over the top. She also got out me red converse. Not that that mattered anyway seeing as how I would be wearing roller skates.

Then she went into her room. She shortly returned with a black necklace that had a rabbit on it. Then she started doing my hair.

She did two messy fishtail braids going down either side. Not going to lie, I quite liked it.

Then she started doing my makeup. Purple eyeshadow and black eyeliner, dark red lipstick and some kind of blusher. I never really wear makeup but with Carmen, saying no is like agreeing to torture.

I looked at the pink clock that hung off Carmen's bedroom wall.

"Carmen Ryan will be waiting downstairs I need to go!"

"Ok I'm done. Good luck!"

I grabbed my phone and handbag and ran downstairs.

Ryan's POV

I had been waiting for a couple of minutes when I heard footsteps coming down the stairs. I looked up and saw Marie bounding down the stairs. She looked beautiful. Her clothes, her hair, it was stunning. Not saying she isn't without it, but it just made me stare in shock and how perfect she was.

"Are we off then?" She asked.

"Yeah. Shona knows we're going, Mai Lee told her."

Shona sometimes works nights here. All she does is sleep.

Marie's POV

We had arrived at skate night. It was like a big disco but everyone was in skates. The atmosphere was amazing and it sent a weird feeling into my stomach.

"Is it weird that I'm nervous?" I asked Ryan as we sat to put our skates on.

"Have you ever been skating before?"

"Nope."

"Then nah, totally normal. But don't worry, I'm sure you'll be fine."

Ryan stepped into the rink and held both hands out to me. I gripped onto both of them and stepped out, almost falling over as I did so.

"Try not to think about your feet and just relax" he instructed.

I was wearing a helmet and elbow pads that Ryan had loaned me. I fell over twice making me look like a complete idiot but Ryan didn't laugh or tease, he just helped me up and carry on.

After a while of following Ryan's instructions I actually began to get it.

We were going round and round the rink, his hand locked into mine, keeping me steady. We were talking about random stuff. Like how much we hate Carmen and why you should never start an argument with Floss.

We were going quite fast when I lost my balance and went tumbling to the ground again, hitting it quite hard.

"Are you alright?" Ryan asked concerned, helping me up.

"Well well well. Never thought I'de see the day when Ryan actually helped someone."

I recognised the voice instantly. Tee.

"Well maybe he never helps you Tee, because he doesn't like you!" I said, standing straight and facing Tee and Sasha who must have been here the whole time.

"Whatever" Tee sighed as her and Sasha skated away.

"Shall we go home?" Ryan asked. "Maybe, finish this date in the garden?"

"Sounds good. I don't wanna be here anymore."
