Please come out...

I woke up and found out it's 10:43 am. I slept in.

"Why didn't you wake me up?" I asked Mai Lee as I got to the bottom of the stairs in my pyjamas.

"Ryan filled me in on what happened last night so I told I everybody to let you sleep for as long as you needed to."

"Thanks." I said awkwardly.

"Can I speak to you for a minute?"

"Sure" I yawned, stepping into the office with her.

"I know you miss Mike. I miss him too. But I understand..."

"No you don't Mai Lee. You can never understand what I'm going through right now!" I began to cry. I didn't know that was even possible after only being awake for five minutes.

"Marie you have to trust me on this, I know how you feel..."

"No you don't!" I shouted. I heard shuffling outside the door meaning someone was listening but I honestly don't care.

"You will never understand this pain because you have both your parents still! You have a family! Mine died, my aunts and uncles left me and my foster family hated me!"

"I get it but..."

"Mike was the closest thing I have ever had do a Dad! Now he's gone too"

"Look, I miss him too. We just need to stay strong. Can you please try and do that for me?"

A tear rolled down my cheek.

"I can't" I cried.

"Just try. Please"

"I can't!" I said storming out. I plonked myself down in the living room and pulled out my phone. Pretty much everybody else was doing the same.

"Right" Mai Lee said as she clapped her hands together. "We're going out for the day!"

"Where too?" Bailey asked.

"Green Acre theme park!" Said Kazima excitedly, clearly proud of herself.

"Is this a rubbish attempt to take our minds off Mike being sacked?!" Asked Sasha.

"Mike has not been sacked" Carmen sighed.

"Yeah not yet" Jody huffed.

I ran upstairs. I don't want to do anything. I don't want to go anywhere. I don't feel like having fun. The closes thing I have to a farther has gone and may never be back.

I pulled a chest of drawers over the door and leant against them so that nobody could come in.

I cried for a little while and pulled my legs up to my chest.

Someone tried to push the door open. It was obviously Ryan. Nobody else would be trying to come in of we're meant to go to a theme park.

"Marie? Come on we need to get going everyone's getting onto the bus"

"I'm not going you can't make me."

"Please come on, we need to go"

I didn't reply. Luckily he got the message and ran away downstairs.

Ryan's POV

"Mai Lee Marie's really not up for coming, she's throwing up and that" I announced as I arrived at the minibus.

"I guess we will have to do this another time then" stated Kazima from the front seat.

"It's fine I'll wait back with her..."

"It's ok I'll stay with her" said Carmen leaning out of the bus.

"Shall we call Shona?" Kaz asked. Mai Lee agreed before turning back to Carmen and I. We were fighting over who was staying.

"Look I better get going though" Mai Lee stated.

"It's fine because I'm staying" Carmen said.

"No I am!"

"You're both staying" she butted in. I looked at her horrified. I was hoping to have some alone time with Marie, I don't want Carmen hanging round.

"Well, I can't just leave one of you can I? So either both of you, or none of you. But I'm going to get going, don't want this lot killing each other in the back seats so I'll see you both later"

I sighed, as did Carmen. We walked away into the house again. I went straight upstairs to my room.

"Marie" I yelled through the door "look I told Mai Lee your ill. So she's gonna let me stay here with you. If you come out we can have some lunch in the garden yeah?

"Go away"

"What's up with you love?"

"Just go away!"

"Alright" I sighed in defeat. I bounced the football under that I was holding under my arms.

----------

I was sat with my back against the wall next to the bedroom door. I didn't really have anywhere to go right now. I can't get into my own bedroom and if I go downstairs I'm going to have to deal with Carmen.

I was bouncing the football on the floor and opposite wall when Carmen came up the stairs.

"Shona just called" she said, crouching beside me. "She's had an emergency call to another care home but she said she'll be here in like an hour" I looked at her as she knocked on the door.

"Marie I've got some food out here for you, seeing as you missed lunch..."

"Just leave it there and go away. Both of you!" She yelped back.

"Marie what's up?" Carmen asked. Stupid question really.

"Isn't it obvious?"

"No"

"Mikes gone and I want him back! I want Mike back!" Her voice cracked, like she was about to cry.

I gave Carmen a look that said 'yeah I know, I've tried'

She got up and went downstairs. I sat there still, waiting for her to come out. I know she is here but I kind of miss her.

----------

Carmen returned a bit later with a milkshake in her hand. She sat next to me, leaning against the wall on the opposite side of the door frame.

"Marie I've made you a banana milkshake" Carmen stated, attempting to bribe her out as she must be starving by now.

"She doesn't like banana milkshakes" I told her. She looked disappointed.
"Look why are you here" I asked. I was fed up of her trying to get involved.

"Excuse me?"

"It's me and Marie who are together, not you. I mean why didn't you just go on that trip?"

"Me and Marie are mates ya know." She knocked on the door again.

"Marie foods still out here, getting a bit cold now" We both listened for a reply. Nothing.
