"I'm sorry it didn't work out with your sister" I said. Ryan and I were chilling on his bed.
I was resting my head over his chest and he was playing with my hair. He was much calmer than before.

"It wasn't your fault."

"I was the one who talked you into it though"

"And if you hadn't I would never have had the chance to punch her in the face" he laughed.

"So you're not mad?" I asked.

"No. I'm glad it's over and now I can forget about her. I don't need her in my life and it's clear she doesn't want me in hers anymore."

"What about Chloe?"

"Chloe hates her now. She doesn't want us to be split up, we already live in different care homes. How bad would it be if she lived in America?"

"So you're both happier?"

"Yeah, this is for the best."

Mike walked in, totally killing the mood with his timing.

"Ryan about today..."

"It's alright Mike. I've thought it through. What happened was for the best" said Ryan maturely.

"Are you alright as well Marie?"

"Yeah. If Ryan's happy, I'm happy."

"That's cute" Ryan said.

"Well, the others have something they want to say to you both in the morning so get some sleep yeah?"

"Ok, night Mike" I yawned. It wasn't a real yawn. He closed the door behind him and I rolled onto my front so that I was face to face with Ryan.

"You look beautiful up close" he said.

"Wish I could say the same" I joked. He giggled a bit then gave me a short kiss on the lips.

"Thanks for being there for me today Marie."

"I'll always be there for you Ryan. No matter what goes on I'll always care"

"Love you"

"Love you more..." I said.

"Love you most!" I sighed and gave him another kiss.

"Goodnight Ryan" I said, getting off his bed and into mine.

"Night princess"

There was a loud clap of thunder as I sat bolt upright in bed. The rain was hammering on the window and the lightning flashed.

I listened for a few seconds. Another clap of hinder terrified me and I screamed, putting my hands over my ears and pulling my knees into my chest.

It was getting harder to breath and I was starting to cry. Why does this happen? It's like a ball of panic starts in the pit of my stomach and grows through my whole body.

I felt a warm arm wrap round my shoulders. I looked up to see Ryan gazing at me, a worried look on his face.

"Don't worry. I'm here" more thunder interrupted him. I jumped so that I was leaning on him as he crouched on the edge of my bed.

"Come here..." He whispered. He got my duvet and wrapped it round mine and his shoulders before guiding me over to his bed, which was further away from the window.

He lay me down and got in beside me, wrapping his arms round my waist and holding tightly onto me. I felt safe and warm and protected.
