(Levy McGarden's POV)
As I look at Natsu lie on the bed, I wanted to cry because I know he’s not just simply lying down there to sleep, there’s a possibility that he might not wake up again. He was lying beside Lucy’s bed holding Lucy’s hand. Lying beside each other, this breaks my heart! Even Natsu acts strong, I know he thought about losing Lucy. Unsure of Lucy’s life, even he knew Lucy wouldn’t live anymore he remained strong and hopeful. I already accepted that she’s going to die; I cried it all out after I heard Natsu and the doctor talking the last time Lucy had been operated again. I envy Natsu, how come he could smile and talk like nothing happened. Just like what he said, Lucy might be his weakness but she’s also her strength. Looking at Natsu, looks like he’s the one more suffering than Lucy. “What are you thinking Levy?” Jellal asked. Why does he have to ask when obviously he knows what I’m thinking? We lost Lucy and now Natsu, I can’t let this stupid thing continue. I don’t want Natsu to die.
I leaned to Jellal, seeking comfort and warmth on his chest, “Jellal, I’m scared. What if?” I started..
“shhh… it’s not happening! Natsu is waking up, Natsu is waking up with Lucy” he whispered. I nodded, trying to dry the tears my eyes were about to fall.
Waiting on the room so silent, all I could hear was the people’s heart beats, fast and strong, nervous but hoping. Jellal, Zeref, Loke, Gajeel, and Gray. Their heart beats beating so loud together that makes the moment’s tension rise to higher extreme level, but aside from their beats there are also two heart beats I could hear, the other is weak and slow, while the other is loud but frequent. The loud and frequent must be Lucy’s. I hear her heart is still actively working than a normal person, she must’ve assured it to tell us that she still wants to live. My memories with Lucy are just so precious. She must’ve understood everything. Not standing to watch the both love birds lie on the bed with their life unsure, I decided to visit Aunt Layla. I don’t think I should tell her about this for now; it might give her hopes up and get disappointed again, it’ll be sad for her.
Though, Lucy never mentions her a lot but I know something is also deep in her mind. Lucy’s lucky she still have her mom.
Opening the door to Aunt Layla’s room, she woke up and stood up.
“Oh! I’m sorry I didn’t mean to wake you up Auntie” I apologized as I walked inside the room. She was smiling; I wonder how she gets to smile with all that’s happening.
I sat on the chair near her bed and asked her how she felt, she was looking for Natsu.
“He’s in Lucy’s room” I answered.
She nodded and started a conversation about Lucy, “Lucy is funny and weird, isn’t she?” she asked with a little laugh. I nodded “she is.” I said.
“You know, when Lucy was small she always used to give me headache, I could still remember when I had an argue with a client, the client was insulting me and she was there listening. She couldn’t stand what the client was saying, she suddenly kicks him. I was too mad at Lucy for being so rude. When we got home, I scolded her, said bad things to her. It’s really hard to be a mother, but Lucy helped through it. Lucy was indeed a very cheerful child, I am lucky I have her, it’s just too unfortunate that I just realized them.” she said.
I’m sure if Lucy was here, she would want to hear those words from her mom. Wake up fast Lucy! Wake up and listen to your Mom, wake up and let’s have more fun together with our friends.
Her mom fell asleep and as I fixed her blanket, I went slowly out of her room to avoid her from waking up.
