(Levy's POV conitnuation)
I saw Natsu on the station, seeing his looks I know something happened, something must’ve happened to Lucy again.
Sasuke held my hand in a sudden moment and pulled me to run faster, running with Sasuke; his hands are so soft and warm.
“What happened?” I asked.
“Lucy is….. Lucy’s getting worse” Gajeel answered.
I couldn’t believe it, are we really losing her? I shook my head, I can’t stand anymore, my knees are weak, and I’m shaking.
Is there no chance anymore? Is she really dying? Gajeel rushed to me to be my stand, he was holding me strong and firm to keep me away from crushing down.
I couldn’t stand anymore, what will be Aunt Layla’s reaction, what will happen to Natsu if Lucy dies?
We were all sitting on the waiting bench and the doctor comes out, shaking heads! Don’t say this please!
“I’m sorry to say this but her brain gave up. It’s not functioning anymore. I think it’s time to….” Before he could say those words Gray intruded.
“Don’t! Don’t you ever say that! She’s going to live, you’ll see. Lucy is just resting. She is” Gray screamed. Gray has always been rude to the doctors; well I guess we can’t blame him too.
Gra’s eyes were tearing; Natsu was silent on the corner, Loke, Zeref and Jellal leaning on the wall like kids. And Sasuke, not even showing emotions; I wonder how he feels.
Gajeel hugged me,
“Get off me” I said.
Why is he so touchy today? I closed my eyes,
“She must be tired. Why don’t we let her go?” our heads turned and saw Aunt Layla.
My eyes looked to Sasuke, he was shaking his head. Aunt Layla’s voice was shaking; I could feel she’s trying to be strong, she started talking, we could feel she’s stopping her tears from coming out.
“Lucy is a very happy and loving child; she’s childish yet always thinks about others than herself. She’s strong too, but I don’t think she’s strong enough to see us like this. Natsu, Sasuke, Levy and everyone looks like I can’t stand watching Lucy like this. I can’t believe wires are attached to her, monitor on the side of her bed, oxygen tanks piled and her lying on the bed unconscious. She’s struggling inside, she’s in pain, she’s suffering.” She said with a shaking voice, tears were falling from her eyes.
Sasuke hugged her and let her cry.
I wonder what decision they have decided; Gray punched the wall, Jellal cried Zeref and Loke too. Seeing everyone around me cry is heart breaking, the strong people whom I rely on is now crying, the strong walls where I used to lean on is now breaking apart. Everyone, please be strong. That moment, I leaned myself to Gajeel, be my wall for now Gajeel.
Everyone was crying, except for Sasuke and Natsu. Stop pretending you guys!
Then, Aunt Layla rolls her wheel chair to Natsu,
“Son-in-Law, as a mother I don’t want to see you like this, I don’t want to see those important people like this, it has almost been a year already. One year of hoping, one year being strong, one year of holding on, and one year of waiting. Let’s just give up okay? Because I’m tired and Lucy too, you don’t want Lucy suffering, right? Don’t worry, I’ll find someone for you, someone you’ll love. I don’t want to see you like this; you’ve stopped schooling, even her friends too, you guys lived in the hospital already without even thinking about your parents. If Lucy was here she wouldn’t allow you to, would she? If we push her to live, if we hope and not let go we’ll get hurt more. Natsu Dragneel, my son-in-law. Be strong, strong enough to let go” she said.
