The first few months of being a couple was a bliss. He was sweet, caring and always patient to you. Even though the both of you were miles apart, he never fails to put a smile on your face. Ofcourse, just like any other relationship, we experienced hardships and misunderstandings.
Time passed and the both of you got busy. The both of you barely had time for each other. Projects, quizzes and paperwork deadlines were piling up, leaving the both of you to almost have no time for each other.
'You can't light a fire if the candle's melt---' your phone rang. Your whole face lit up when you saw his name. It was actually the first time that he called so it was kind of a big deal. Added to that, the both of you wasn't able to talk that much that week because he told you that he had his final exams and he needed to focus.
With shaky hands, you answered. "H-hello?" The line was silent but you can hear him taking a deep breath. A smile formed on your face and spoke again, "I missed you." Again, the line was silent. You were quiet too for a few seconds when you heard a soft sob. It was too soft for a girl. You got confused and said hello again. For the 3rd time, you were answered with a silence.
"A-azzii....I'm s-sorry..." A girl's voice spoke. "Uh, sorry, who is this?" You asked.
"Bab... It's me..." The voice replied.
'But it's a girl's voice' you thought. You were speechless for a few minutes when finally it dawned on you. He wasn't really a guy. He, or better yet SHE is a girl.
You cannot believe it. You were fooled. You were devastated. You truly loved her. With that, you ended the call.
Days passed and you missed her so bad. You tried suppressing your feelings because, damn, she's also a girl. But just like what they always say, "love knows no gender".
You finally had the guts to call the number again. After the 3rd ring, you heard the familiar soothing voice again.
You closed your eyes and started humming, "Even if the stars crashes into us, I won't let go. I won't let go. I can be your light, stay with me tonight." The line was quiet when you spoke again, "i love you. Even if you're a girl. I still love you so fucking much"
