It's Complicated

Chapter 5

I woke up around 9AM feeling fresh. It was nice to sleep in. The sun was shining, the birds were chirping.. It looks so beautiful outside!

I walked downstairs to notice my family wasn't home. I grabbed a pan, and decided to make breakfast.

I was mixing the ingredients for pancakes when the doorbell unexpectedly rang. "Coming!" I shouted, as I walked to the front door.

When I opened the door, I thought my eyes would fall out my head. My jaw dropped as I stood there utterly shocked.

"Nice outfit" Tyler said, with clear sarcasm in his voice. I was wearing yoga shorts, bunny slippers, and a dark pink tank top. My hair was in small waves, and I had no makeup on.

"Thanks" I said rolling my eyes and opening the door for him to come inside.

"Hungry?" I asked, as we went into the kitchen, so I could finish my cooking without having to worry about the stove being on still.

"Actually, yes" he spoke with a little chuckle. Can he get any more cuter?

"Alright. I'm cooking breakfast right now. Should be ready in about 15 to 20 minutes. So why did you come here?" I asked, pouring the pancake mix on the pan.

"I was a little bit bored so I was gonna see if you wanted to hang out, and now here we are" he said watching me cook. It was a little creepy I had to admit, but at least he was here with me. For some reason he makes me feel safe and warm inside.

I giggled a bit by his comment. "I'm so glad it's the weekend. I hate school" I said, grabbing to eggs from the fridge and cracking them.

"I know. Do you need any help?" Tyler got up from his seat with a questioning look.

"No, I'm fine. Thank you for the offer though" I gave him a warm smile, as he sat back down.

Once everything was cooking, I sat down across from him. Since he was on his phone, he put it away and looked up at me.

"So what are you making?" He asked. You could already smell the food, and it smelled really good I had to admit.

"Pancakes, bacon, scrambled eggs, and a fruit dish" I said, getting up again to prepare the food, because the timer had gone off.

"Sounds good!" He replied smiling a bit. I smiled back, knowing this was a really rare moment. Tyler never really smiled and it was nice to see him smiling.

I got out two plates, and started dishing up our food. Not forgetting to grab the silverware and napkins, I set our plates on the table. I went back to the fridge and grabbed the fruit dish I had made the other day, and set it down on the table with a spoon in it, to scoop up the fruit. I took the spoon and dished up some fruit, setting it on an empty spot on my plate.

"Thanks" he said, grabbing his fork and digging in.

"My pleasure" I replied, doing the same.

After we ate, Tyler and I had turned on a movie to watch. I ended up falling asleep. I woke up and walked to the kitchen to find a note.

'Had to go home. Thanks for breakfast! Had fun today.

I smiled at the note walking up to my room. I grabbed some tape and tapped it into my diary on the right side. I then started writing on the left side.

'Dear Diary,

So far has been an awesome day! Tyler came over and we ate breakfast together, and watched a movie. I got a note from him and can't stop smiling! Going to get ready to head down to the blockbuster. I need to rent some movies for tonight.

I closed my book, and hopped in the shower to get ready for the day.

I was now all ready for the day. I had on a black strapless crop top that only showed about 3 inches of my stomach. I then put on some white shorts, and did my makeup. I pulled my hair up into a messy bun, and applied some red lipstick. I put on my black and white converse, along with my heart sunglasses that I adore so much! Spraying on some of my vanilla perfume, I grabbed my purse and keys, along with my iPhone that I shoved in my back pocket.

Today's going to be a fun day. After renting some movies, I think I might head down to the mall.

I went into the kitchen, and dialed my moms number on my phone. It rang three times before she picked up.

P: hey mom!

M: oh hello page. Do you need anything?

P: yea! Just wanted to let you know I'm going to head down to the mall for a bit.

M: alright dear. Have fun, and be safe

P: alright. Love you mama. Tell dad I said I love him.

M: ok. Have fun Page

P: ok bye

M: bye!

Ahh.. Finally. A day to get rid of all of my stress and just have a fun day.
