It's been two days since I've been gone. So far, my parents haven't called me. Neither has Tyler. I'm beginning to wonder if they even got my note. All this is confusing me.
I picked up the leaf that stood at the tip of my shoes and scrunched it in my hand, feeling all the little particals in it crush. The sky has darkened and the wind was beginning to pick up. I walked up the steps, and turned the little brown nob on the door.
I took off my boots, and walked to the fridge taking out some apple cider. The liquid felt good on my dry mouth, as my taste buds begged for more. I finished the drink in about two seconds, before there was a knock at the door.
Slowly turning the handle of the door, I opened it to find the least expected person standing in front of me.
There stood my one and only best friend Austin. I jumped into his arms, giving him a bone crushing hug. "Where have you been!?" I whispered pulling away and staring into his eyes.
His eyes looked tired and droopy. I wouldn't be surprised if he fell asleep at any moment.
"I was looking all over for you! You were worrying me sick" he whispered back, embracing me into another hug, as if afraid if he let go I would leave forever. I smiled a bit, knowing that I had company with me so I wouldn't be alone.
"I'm sorry. I was thinking about calling, but then I thought it would be best if I didn't. I just needed some time to think with everything going on" I said pulling away, and walking back to the kitchen. I heard him shut the door and turned to see him walking into the kitchen too.
"I know. I wish you would have told me, but I understand. We all have those rough times and sometimes we just need to let loose for a bit" he said sitting down on the stool that stood under the small table connected to the kitchen counter.
"How did you find me?" I asked, grabbing a bag of crackers and pourin them in a bowl. I set them in the middle of the table for us to split.
"Easy. I knew you would go somewhere that's cold and quite. Plus, I have that app that traces you from where your phone is it" he said, taking a cracker and beginning to chew on it.
I stared at him like he had two heads. Why does he have an app that basically stalks where I am!? "Stalker much?" I say more like a question. I giggle a bit, at the fact he would even buy such an app.
"Well.. It's a long story. Anyways" he said, taking another cracker. Ok he basically just ate this whole bowl.
Most people say they enjoy quietness when their hanging out with their friends. But me on the other hand, I just think it's awkward.
"How is this awkward?" He asked staring at me in confusing. Wait.. What? How did he know? Oh my gosh he can read minds.
Austin began to laugh a bit, as if he heard something funny. Wait a minute..
"No I can't read minds. No one can! At least I think.. You always play with your ring when you think something's awkward" he said pointing towards my ring, which in fact I was playing with it right now. I remember this ring. Austin gave it to me for my 11th birthday. I wore it everyday since. In fact, I don't even remember taking it off.
I smiled a bit, as the memories flooded my mind. It was nice to remember the old days. When everything was just rainbows and unicorns and fairies. Nothing in the world mattered then. People wouldn't judge you by how you dress, or what you say. They wouldn't go around spreading rumors about you, or even laugh at you if you make an embarrassment of yourself. Sure, they may laugh at you, but you you would always laugh along because you didn't really understand. Your a kid. You think everything is funny.
"Wanna go to the beach?" I asked Austin, coming back to reality. He seemed to be lost in thought to, as he shot back for a second from hearing my voice.
"Isn't it to cold for that?" He asked, looking outside to see the sky dark from the grey clouds covering the sun.
"We can go in the hot tub" I said, shrugging my shoulders. I just feel like going for a swim right now.
"Yea sure let me go grab my swimsuit" he said, opening the front door and walking to his car.
I went up to my room, and opened my drawer and put on my hot pink strapless bikini. I then through on an oversized t-shirt and some flip flops then put my hair in a high ponytail.
Unlocking my door, I walked to the kitchen to find Austin eating some more crackers. I laughed a little bit to much than I should have. It's just so funny that I can't help it!
The drive to the pool was silent, but comfortable. We decided to drive to an inside pool since it started raining.
I pushed open the heavy doors to the pool area. Lucky for us, nobody was there except for some elderly couple lying down on the chairs reading old newspapers. I grabbed a random chair and set my stuff on it. Taking off my flip flops, I took off my t-shirt too. I looked over to see Austin slowly walking towards me.
Uh oh.
He grabbed me by the waist, and threw me over his shoulder, walking towards the pool. I banged on his chest and kept screaming at him to put me down, but that only earned me a slap on the butt. I looked over to see the elderly couple staring at us, then next thing I know I'm underwater.
I swim up to the surface and grab ahold of Austin, wrapping myself around him like a monkey. I give him a cheesy smile, and so does he in return.
We just stared at each other for about like 10 seconds. I could feel myself slowly starting to lean in, and same with Austin. I just couldn't control it, even if I stopped.
Our lips finally connected and it was like sparks were flying everywhere!
"Aww Marty look" I heard the old woman say, as I heard a noise that almost sounded like a pat on the back.
LOL THE END THOUGH.
