It's Complicated

Chapter 4

"Goodmorning" I greeted my parents with a morning smile, as I started to make coffee.

Last night I did NOT sleep good at all! I couldn't stop thinking about Tyler. Just thinking his name makes me get butterflies.

"Goodmorning dear" my mom replied, with a warm smile.

I was all dressed and ready to go. I wasn't hungry at all so I just decided to skip breakfast.

"Page" my father spoke. Uh oh.

"Yes?" I asked him, with confusion written on my face. I hope I'm not in trouble. The least I want is to be in trouble. What did I do? Oh no. Did they see me come out of Tyler's car!?

"Your mother and I won't be home tonight. I have a work meeting that requires your mother to be there so if you can just try to make yourself dinner. If not, you can always go out to eat but please be careful. There was signs this morning on the news that a blizzard would be coming in tonight. Your mother and I are going to stay at a hotel tonight so that we don't get caught in the blizzard. Please behave, and no parties" my father said, with a very concerned look on his face.

'Oh great. Just what I need' I thought.

"Ok. You can count on me" I told my father with honesty in my voice, to show him that I will follow his orders.

I grabbed my jacket and phone and went to the car. It was already snowing right now. Maybe I should bring a shovel just in case.

Looking in the back seat, I saw the shovel laying on the floor.

The drive to school was slow considering its snowing, and the roads are slippery.

I got out of the car, and made sure to lock my car. The snow storm is really getting heavier. It's kind of scaring me actually. I wonder if their gonna call off today at school because of the blizzard. I practically had to run inside because if I stayed outside any longer, I'd end up looking like Frosty The Snowman.

Thank God our school is inside and not one of those outside schools where the hallways, lockers, flooring, all outside. Except for the classrooms of course.

I went up to my locker and put all the textbooks I'll need in my backpack.

"Quite a storm outside" somebody spoke next to me. I turned my head, for my surprise to see Tyler.

I laughed a bit, because of his remark. "Tell me about it" I said. This guy has quite the humor.

"Just in case we end up having to leave this hell house, here's my number. In case you get bored, feel free to text me" he said, handing me a piece of paper and smiling a warm smile.

"Alright. Thanks" I grabbed the paper and stuffed it in my pocket.

As if on cue, the speakers for the school went off.

'Attention students: this school day has been canceled due to the weather. We may get a power outage and we may get stuck here if we don't evacuate immediately. Have a good day students, and remember to drive safely. No races, and no speeding. Slow and steady' the speakers spoke. To my guess, that was probably the principal.

We all crammed up against the door to get out. Everybody was pushing and shoving, and some were cursing under their breathe or at others.

'Screw this' I thought, as I shoved everyone out of the way, so most of the people were outside by now. That's all it takes.

I got in my car, and waited for it to be clear to pull out. Once I got the perfect shot, I pulled out and began to drive. I gripped the steering wheel a bit tighter, as the snow began to fall really fast and hard. Finally I got home, and got inside. The wind is very strong and I wouldn't be surprised if it blew our house down.

I walked up to my room, only to notice my parents had already left. I decided to go on the computer, since I had nothing else to do.

Once again, my Skype had a new notification.

'Oh great. What is it this time?' I thought to myself.

Opening the notification, I saw I had a message from Julia. Well that's odd. Really odd. I thought they all hated me?

I clicked her profile to see that she's online then clicked the chat button, only to see she sent me a message.

Skype conversation ~

J: Is this Page Holmes?

P: Umm yea.. Julia why are you chatting with me? I thought you and Chloe hated me. You guys treated me like I was some pet that you just boss around all day. Do you know how hurt I was? How hurt I felt? It really hurt my feelings and heart, and more so that you actually believed those rumors Chloe was sharing with the whole school. None of them were true, and yet you believed them. I can't believe I felt proud to call you my best friend.

J: Page I'm so sorry! I guess I was just all caught up in being perfect like Chloe that I just believed them over knowing the obvious.

P: Sorry isn't enough. I've been told sorry to much and I can't forgive you that easily for what you did. I had no friends for 3 years! Do you know how that feels!?

J: I don't know what to do to make you forgive me. I'm truly sorry!

P: I have to go.

J: No don't go! Please Page!

P: Bye

End of conversation ~

I can't take it. I'm not going to forgive her that easily. She needs to know how I felt. She needs revenge. Which is why I have the perfect plan.
