It's Complicated

Chapter 13

This kiss wasn't like any kiss. It was magical. It was one that I've never felt so much sparks before. I never wanted it to stop. We pulled away so we could catch our breathe. What just happened.

I swam out of the pool and grabbed my towel and ran to the bathroom. I locked the door, and stared at myself in the mirror. My ponytail was all tangled in a knot, mascara was dripping down my eyes, and my bathing suit made me look fat. I cried. I let loose all of my tears I've been holding in today.

I kissed my best friend. That one friend that I've been friends with ever since I was a little toddler. And now I just blew it. I just ruined our friendship. Now everything is going to be awkward. It's all ruined. Everything. I'm such a mess up. I screwed up my life and now I can't fix it.

I heard a light knock at the door, causing me to escape my thoughts. I slowly walked to the door and opened it. There stood Austin in nothing but his bathing suit, dripping wet and panting like he just ran a marathon.

"Are you okay?" He said, scanning my face to make sure I didn't have any bruises or cuts on it. His face looked like he was worried sick. I smiled a bit, hiding my true emotions I was feeling.

"Yes, I'm fine" I lied. I hate telling him lies. It's like a stab in the heart, but only worse.

"Page I know your lieing" he said with no expression written on his face.

Ugh. I shoved past him and walked back to the pool. When I walked in, I saw the elderly couple had left. I grabbed the rest of my stuff and walked back out.

"Today has been fun, but it's getting late. I'll see you later" I said, faking a smile but not daring to look in his eyes. If I look in his eyes he'll know I'm lieing. I can't stay here anymore.

We got inside the car, and I dropped him off at a nearby hotel. He grabbed his stuff and walked inside, not forgetting to give me a small wave. I smiled and waved back at him. This is to much for me to handle. I lost my best friend, my crush, and now I just ruined my whole friendship with my true friend who's always been there with me for EVERYTHING.

I pulled up on the driveway and ran inside. I threw on yoga pants and a t-shirt then grabbed all my clothes and packed them in my small bag I had. I only packed a couple things so it wasn't that bad. Then I ran to the bathroom and packed everything in there too. I threw my bag in the passenger seat, and started up the car. I pulled out of the driveway and began to just drive. I don't know where I'm going.

I ended up at the airport that was only 15 minutes away from the house I was staying at. I grabbed a flight ticket and walked to section B.

I waited in line as the people boarded the plane. Some guy had to be taken away because he showed a fake ticket or something.

"Ticket?" The flight attendant asked with a warm smile. At least she's happy. I showed her my ticket and she swayed her hand, gesturing me to walk through. I smiled at her as I walked into the long narrow hallway.

I finally reached my seat. The bottom of my seat had a some room, so I decided to slide my backpack under there. I inhaled the fresh scent of the airplane and closed my eyes. I'm finally going to be away from everything.

I'm staying in California.
