When i woke up there was no that blinding sunshine coursing through my room....it almost looked like 6 in the morning or something but my instincts told me it was not time to pull the covers over my head and go back to bed although that was what i wanted...i shifted on bed and swirled my legs to the floor....it was quiet ....quiet as if there was nobody in the fortress ..I wondered if they had all left for the funeral....well I wanted to go too...as much as I'd like to see a warrior's funeral...I wanted to pay my respects to Mona....as I stretched out I heard a knock on the door

"Come in ....."I said

Seconds later the door was pushed open and in came my maid

"Mulan has asked me to prepare you for the funeral"she said with her head hung like a chandelier
"I'm going too??"I asked

She nodded in response and I quickly stood up....I bolted past her to that private bathroom which I'm sure was not private at all....I had a quick bath and wrapped the robe around me then darted out almost bumping into my maid...

"Sorry"i muttered

Since she was my maid I'm sure she'd follow me everywhere even if it was hell....so much of loyalty going on....I walked back to my room and realized I had nothing proper to where for the funeral....I spun around looking at my maid

"I don't have anything to wear for the funeral"I said

She smiled and walked past me to my bed....i turned around looking at her as she held a white long dress....it was gorgeous but then white for funerals??

"Is that my dress??"I asked
"Yes...it will take time to fix your wardrobe but do not worry...soon you'll have all the pieces"

I nodded and took the dress from her hands....sure there had to be a way I could put that cute thing on....the dress was flawless....it was white cotton with a mandarin neckline...the long sleeves had a small puff on the shoulder...and its bodice was extremely gorgeous...the waist line was a V-line .....it was not bell shaped but it ran along to the floor just fine....i wondered how it would look on me...but it wasn't time to check out funeral dresses as if they were bridal dress ups.....

"Let me help you put it on"my maid said

I gave her the dress for once i decided i wont mind about being dressed by somebody else....she placed the corset around me and laced it at the back tightly ....i held on to my dressing table so i would not fall and collapse

"Is it supposed to be that tight"I said
"Did i make it too tight"she asked
"I can still breathe though my boobs look like they want to run out of my chest"I said breathlessly

She laughed and pulled the dress over my head....now it fit perfectly and I would've taken it for a wedding gown instead of something to wear on a funeral....

"What's your name"i asked the maid as i looked at my reflection in the full length mirror

"Lucretia"she said sheepishly
"I'm Zara"I said turning around to face her although I knew she probably knew who I was but she couldn't call me that because she was my maid and "My lady" is all she could say....but "my lady" is not what I wanted

"Call me Zara from now on"I said

she looked at me and her eyes flung wide

"But-"she started and I simply cut her off
"Just Zara...think you can do that for me"

She smiled uncomfortably and nodded

"Yes My la-" she stopped and corrected herself
"Yes of course Zara"

I smiled at her...especially because of the way she said my name....having an ancient name i realised people would add different tones to it when saying it...but the way she said made it so ancient that it fell Right in place different from the way folks from my world would say it....probably pronounce it as if it got on the oxford dictionary just yesterday...it was either "Za'ara" like the way Lucretia said or "Z -ey-ra"like most people called me....but it didn't change the fact i was still Zara up there and down here
