Chapter Six: Gravity Falls Says: Scary-Oke
The fandoms are working as usual when a couple of the bandoms walk in. Everyone looks up.
MCR: When I was / A young boy / My father / Took me into the city / To see a marching band. To join the Black Parade.
No one seems to understand, so MCR clears his throat and starts speaking again. He sounds annoyed this time.
MCR: When I was / A young boy —
Beatlemania runs over and claps a hand over MCR's mouth, grinning sheepishly.
Beatlemania: What he means is —
Bowiemania: It's Karaoke Night!
Beatlemania: Well, actually it might be two nights, depending on how many songs we —
Bowiemania: DORK.
Beatlemania: I am not a dork! You're a —
Bowiemania: DOOOOORK.
Beatlemania: BOWIEMANIA DAVID FAME, I AM NOT A DORK.
Bowiemania: [whispers] Dork.
Beatlemania starts chasing Bowiemania around the office. P!ATD pins up a piece of paper as they run off.
P!ATD: Uh, well, here's the sign-up sheet. The bandoms will be providing accompaniment.
All of the fandoms get up and cluster around the sign-up sheet.
FOB: That was a good idea.
P!ATD: It was your idea, doofus.
FOB: Exactly.
The theme song plays.
It is Karaoke Night. Everyone has set up sleeping bags and pillows and are in pajamas. The bandoms have readied their instruments.
Beatlemania: [reading from a list] Okay, first is OTGW with his theme song.
OTGW talks to the bandoms for a minute. All of them sit at the side on their pillows, and OTGW sits down at the piano.
OTGW: Led through the mist
By the milk light of moon
All that was lost is revealed
Our long bygone burdens
Mere echoes of the spring
But where have we come
And where shall we end
If dreams don't come true
Then why not pretend
How the gentle wind
Beckons through the leaves
As autumn colors fall
Dancing in a swirl
Of golden memories
The loveliest lies of all
OTGW begins whistling, but is also playing the highest notes of the piano at the same time. He finishes whistling.
OTGW: The loveliest lies of all . . .
Everyone claps, and Beatlemania stands up and comes back on the "stage".
Beatlemania: So now apparently Doctor Who is going to be . . . singing . . . the Doctor Who theme . . . even though it doesn't have any words . . . ?
