Ch.13: Remembering

  King's POV
I flew fast through the air, catching Gemminia right before she hit the large body of water. A small splash of water hit my face a bit but I didn't care. I was worried about the red haired girl that was in my arms. I rushed her back to Diane, Gowther, Howzer, and Guila. I set her on the ground with a frown and I looked up at the others. Gowther slowly walked over and bent down to feel her pulse.
"Well, she's still breathing. But I don't know when she'll wake up. Judging by her appearance, she must've drained a bunch of her power and gained scars while fighting her brother. She might not wake up." He looked up at me.
My eyes widened and I looked down at the unconscious girl in front of me. I cupped one of her cheeks with my hand. I should've came straight after her after I... After I killed Helbram... Twice... My eyes started to water as I thought of my best friend. I wiped my small tears away then sighed.
"Is there any way to wake her up?" I looked at Gowther.
"Well I can see what's going on in her mind and help her out of the trance, but I don't know if she'll want to get out."
"Try." I looked at him with a serious face.
"Roger."
He brought his hand to both sides of her head and two little lightning bolts shot into either side. After a few seconds of closing his eyes during the process, his eyes shot open wide and he stared at nothing in particular for a long time. Diane and I looked at each other then back at Gowther.
"Gowther?" Diane asked.
Without looking at anyone, a shock went to everyone who was in our little group right now. I raised an eyebrow and I gasped. Memories of Gemminia hanging out with all of us flashed fast and I saw the two of us always together. I held onto my chest and clenched my shirt where my heart was. My heart beat faster and faster with each memory. Tears rushed down my face and I pulled at my hair. How did I have so many memories of her that were so wonderful? My eyes widened and I looked at the girl on the floor. The girl I was in love with... I never realized how much she was associated with us, how close we were to her. We all had so much fun together. My heart pounded as I remembered the first time I asked her out.
Everyone slowly got out of their shock and looked at the two of us with wide eyes. They knew we were together. I stared at Gemminia for the longest time before we heard Ban come.
"Why are you guys standing around?! Demons are going nuts through the whole ci-" his eyes widened when he saw Gemminia.
"Gem!" He ran to her side.
He grabbed her hand. My face almost boiled with anger. I got all my memories back of her and I'm already jealous of Ban holding her hand. I feel stupid for getting jealous since I know they're only best friends. I looked at Gowther and he nodded. He shot Ban in the neck with a bolt and Ban's eyes widened. After a minute or so, he stared at Gemminia.
"Gemminia!" He cried and hugged her tightly.
I looked at the city and narrowed my eyes.
"Let's defeat these things so we can focus on Gemminia and save Elizabeth." I stood up with balled fists.
Ban stood up and nodded, holding Gemminia in a bridal style. I looked at Howzer with a serious expression and he gulped. Since I was so serious about this situation now, I bet you he was scared I was going to beat his ass.
"Take extreme care of her. Follow us but don't get close enough to where she's in danger. Got it?" I glared at him.
"U-understood." He took Gemminia from Ban.
"Please don't put Gemminia in harm's way, Howzer. She's really important to us." Diane frowned at the sleeping girl in his arms.
He nodded and turned to the city. I floated up and Ban got on chastiefol, taking out his chain weapon.
"I bet I could beat more than you." Ban smirked.
I snickered.
"Do you know who you're talking to?" I smirked.
We shot through the air, taking out all the demons and turning the new generation back to normal.
After a while, we caught up to where Meliodas was. We saw Hendrickson still alive and my face boiled with anger. I used chastiefol to knock him through the earth. He ended up getting knocked to a field by Diane and her Gideon. We all floated over to where he was and saw he went through an underground tunnel. I looked at Meliodas and gulped. As much as I was determined, dark and scary tunnels aren't really my thing. I saw Gowther come up beside captain and hit him with the bolt. Meliodas's eyes widened for a second and he looked at me with a shocked expression.
"Oh my god, King. Gemminia and..." He stared at me, "Where is she now?" His face was even more serious than he was before and he was serious before because Hendrickson almost killed Elizabeth a few seconds ago.
"Howzer has her. S-she's unconscious."
"Now we have to save two girls..." He jumped into the hole.
I sighed then flew after him with a determined expression.
