"Ugh!" I shot a volley of arrows at Ban.
Ban had his hands in his pockets and side stepped away from the arrows, running towards me. I groaned and wind blew up, making my hair fly up. I closed my eyes and mumble a few words under my breath.
"I'm not going to wait all day! Cmon!" Ban yelled at me from the ground.
I shot my eyes open and glared at him.
"You got it." I smirked.
I flipped one side of my hair behind my shoulder then put a hand on me hip, smiling devilishly.
"Hurricane." I said calmly.
The air started to pick up around him. Rain started pouring over him. He held his arm up to block the rain from getting into his eyes. He struggled to get through the wind and I smiled.
"I'm not going to wait all day! Cmon!" I mimicked him.
He was not giving up though. He made it mostly through the hurricane when I shook my head. I sent him all the way to the eye of the hurricane. His breathing was a bit heavier and I stared at him with an expressionless face.
"I expected more from the fox sin of greed." I crossed my arms.
"Do you expect more from everyone?" He asked, wiping his bleeding mouth.
"Not everyone. Just the people whom I know can do better. You're not trying your hardest, are you?" I asked.
"You're a girl. I'm not trying to hurt you."
I smiled, sinisterly at the ground.
"Quite funny you say that. I don't care if you're a guy. So I can win easily."
I cleared my throat then started humming the song of the sirens. His eyes turned wide and he slowly walked towards me. I stared into his eyes, smirking as I sang. Once he was close enough, I stopped singing. He kept staring at me as if in a trance and I chuckled. I brought my face so close to his face that our lips almost touched.
"I win." I smirked then poked him in the forehead, making him fall onto his back.
He shook his head then sat up. He stared at me for a few moments while I pointed my sword at his neck. He closed his eyes and smirked.
"Where'd you learn that trick?" He asked, chuckling.
"My old home." I simply stated.
"Where is this old home of yours anyways?" He brought one leg to bend, leaning his arm against it, and the other lying flat.
I turned away from him, putting my sword back into its place. I continued to stare at the trees around me with an emotionless expression.
"Aww come on, Gem." I heard him get up, "There's nothing to hide." He whispered in my ear, "We're now friends, right?"
My eyes widened and the memory of Elaine telling me the exact same thing popped up.
"Gemminia, are you alright?" He asked.
I let out a breath I didn't know I was holding. I let my hands loosen up the tension they had. I looked up at him and he stared at me with a raised eyebrow.
"Well?"
"Yeah... It's just... Elaine told me the exact same thing a long time ago..." I looked at the ground.
His eyes widened and I promise I saw a little smile.
"Will you tell me about you and Elaine?" He asked.
I tensed in surprise. Wait what? That doesn't seem like him. I sighed then grabbed his hand. His hand tensed and I smiled a bit. I got him back. I pulled him to a meadow like area then sat down. He stared at him and I watched the flowers as the wind blew.
"Are you going to sit down? Or are you going to stay standing?" I picked up a flower and examined it.
After a few seconds, he sat down. I picked one of the petals off the flower.
"It all started when I was running away from my kingdom." I started.
I only told him about the daily visits, never once did I mention I was a mermaid or what kingdom I came from. But Ban listened. I didn't expect him to but he did. When I finished my story, he told me about the two of them. I smiled. Elaine liked to talk about what it would be like to have who was in love with her. She finally found it. I sighed. She deserved so much better than being alone for so long. He looked at me after he finished his story.
"You listened to me..." He said, as if surprised.
I raised an eyebrow.
"Of course I would. Why wouldn't I?"
He looked at the flowers and picked one up. He stared at it for a few minutes before he spoke again.
"Thank you... For listening..." He looked back at me.
I smiled.
"Of course. You should tell me more stories." I laid down then stared at him.
He nodded. After one more story, we decided to go back to the others. I jumped onto his back and he gave me a piggy back ride the whole way. We laughed about the randomest things on the way. As soon as we arrived, everyone stared at us in confusion.
"Gemminia? You got Ban to laugh AND give you a piggy back ride?! Are you okay?!" King came up to me and touched my forehead.
I tilted my head to look at Ban and smiled at him.
"Do you two like each other?" Elizabeth asked, innocently.
We looked at each other then started laughing really hard.
"Real funny!" Ban said through his laugh.
"You're hilarious!" I breathed.
"I um..."
"Ban and I were just bonding friendly. We actually have a lot in common." I climbed up to his shoulders and put my chin on his head.
"You sure you guys aren't friends with benefits?" Meliodas put a hand on his chin, raising an eyebrow.
We both fell to the ground with our mouths open. Everybody starts laughing. We started yelling at them, both of us getting red faces from embarrassment. I crossed my arms and kept looking at King to see if he was affected by this. Diane and Meliodas teased us and Ban and I kept pouting. We gave up after a while. I'm gonna have to get used to them.
