16: I won't fight

I walked into the dark catacombs.
I will not fight him. I will not fight him. He will fight me though. He will fight me. He will fight the akuma. He will fight the akuma and win.
I repeated those words to myself while walking to my classmate, my partner, my friend, my crush, my love. I walked forwards. I walked to my doom. I walked towards the centre.
I walked towards my heart shattering.
I reached the centre and looked around. "M'lady..." Chat growled with venom. "M'lady, why did I give that pet name to you? Why did I still use it even when you don't tell me what's going on."
"Chat I won't fight you. You have to fight it kitty, you will win. Go on take my miraculous and leave me to die in here, because I bet you you won't be able to,"
"Kitty? Kitty!?" He roared. "Why do you call me that when you can't even trust me!?"
"I don't want you to worry about me-" I was cut off by him jumping at me. I dodged it but he grabbed hold of my ankle and pulled me down to the ground.
I gasped for air. He pinned me down so I couldn't move without attacking. He reached for my ear when a tear dropped onto my face.
Adrian is still in there!
"Adrian! Chat! Kitty! Fight it! I know you can!" Another tear dropped onto my face as a tear slid down. "Fight it! I know you don't want to do this, I'm sorry for not telling you the truth. Fight!"
He reached for my miraculous and pulled it off. I squeezed my eyes shut as a red flash as I lost my transformation.
He will win. He has too.
Another tear slid down my face. "Win, Adrian, win or at least take over for a few seconds."
"Mari!" He gasped. I opened my eyes, he was in all black like always but his eyes shifted from green and yellow. I pulled his head down and kissed him.
That should knock the akuma's powers for a while.
I pushed his face away from mine and saw his eyes were a solid emerald green. I knew I didn't have lone so I quickly snatched my miraculous. "Fight it! I believe in you!" I pushed him off me and quickly clipped my earring in again. He looked at me stunned and then growled, his outfit turned into a white and his eyes a golden yellow.
