Miranda's P.O.V.
"Hey! Miranda! Up and at'em!" mum shouted from downstairs.
I groaned and rolled over, checking the time. 6:45 AM. I groaned again. I hated when mum woke me up early for school. Normally I would wake up at quarter after seven but mum insists that that is too late.
Slowly and with difficulty, I got out of bed and strolled over to the bathroom. I looked at my reflexion and groaned once again at what I saw. I was a mess; hair sticking out, eyes half open, dark circles under them, and, ew, a drool mark running down my chin. I grabbed a cloth and washed my face. The feel of the water somewhat woke me up a little more. I reached for my brush and tried to flatten my hair out. It worked... kind of. A couple of pieces still stuck out. I gave up and made my way downstairs to find my mum making breakfast.
"Moring mum." I grumbled, kissing her cheek.
"Well good morning Beauty!" she chuckled.
I ignored her, not feeling like arguing about how I looked.
"What's with the breakfast?" I questioned.
"Oh, I have to go to work earlier today to meet with the boss. In fact, I must leave now!"
She placed a plate of pancakes infront of me, hurried to get her shoes, coat and purse, then kissed me before rushing out.
"Have a good day pumpkin!"
I absent-mindedly waved goodbye and ate. I quickly finished, did the dishes afterwards, then took a shower. Getting in gave me a bit of a shock, seeing how cold the water was but it gradually got warmer. I, sadly, got out minutes later and went to get dressed. I decided to wear my favorite pair of skinny jeans, along with my plad shirt on top of a thin white tank top. I applied a bit of make up, which consists of eyeshadow, blush, lipgloss, and mascara. I went back to the bathroom and blowdried my hair before putting it into a quick braid. Little hairs stuck out of it but I didn't care.
I recently got layers put in so my hair was no longer one lenght like before. I never really fancied the color of my hair. Just a plain color of brown. My eyes as well although they were more of a hazel color.
Once finished, I went down, made my lunch and left the house fifteen minutes early to go for my usual morning detour before heading to school.
I loved Holmes Chapel. It was a calm and peaceful place. I didn't always live here though. I moved here with my mum when I was ten years old. My mum told me that she couldn't stand living in Canada anymore so she wanted to leave the country. We did and moved here. At first, I was scared. A little Canadian girl like me, moving to the UK. Everyone had a british accent but me. Now, I have a little bit of an accent. I guess it's because I've been living here for almost eight years.
The best part about moving, however, was getting to meet Harry Styles. He lived just down the street from me and almost everyday when I played outside, he would come join me. I was a little shy at first but I've grown to love him. He was my best friend. We even went to the same school. Our mums even became close. We use to hang out and have dinner together a lot. He was the sweetest little boy I have ever met. Back in Canada, I vaguely remember being treated kindly by the other boys at school, never mind other people. Harry was always there for me.
I still remember the day we met...
*FLASHBACK*
I was playing outside on my swing when a little boy with big green eyes came up to me.
"Hello!" he said.
"Hi." I said back shyly. I wasn't use to talking to boys.
"Are you new here? You don't sound like you're from here."
I shook my head. "I'm not from here. I'm from Canada."
His eyes sparkled. "I'm Harry. I live just down there." he said, pointing down the street. I nodded.
"I'm Miranda."
He smiled and I smiled back, completely forgetting that I had lost two teeth near the front.
"Would you like to play with me?" he asked.
I looked at him and then to my house. I saw my mum in the window, who smiled and gave me a thumbs up. I smiled and turned back.
"Okay."
I got off the swing and followed him. He grabbed my hand.
"You are going to like it here! We are going to be best friends!"
*END*
I smiled at that memory just as I passed by Harry's house. I felt my heart tighten and I sighed. I missed those days so much. I missed him.
See, Harry had a talent for singing so about three years ago, he left to go audition for the X Factor and made it. I was happy of course but then he got put in a group with four other boys and they became a band called One Direction.
After a while, he stopped coming home. He came back for occasions like Christmas but that was pretty much it. He got a break every few months or so but lately it hasn't been that way. The first month he left with the boys, we kept in touch almost everyday. He would tell me about his day and about the boys. How much fun he was having and how often he wished to go home.
Now they have been together for three years and I haven't seen him in almost two years. Christmas last year, I was gone to Canada to visit my grandparents and missed the chance to see Harry for the year. I was disappointed but quickly got over it. This year, I'm hoping to see him. He's constantly on tour so his visits are rare. Sure I see him on TV and in magazines all the time but it wasn't the same. I wanted to physically see him in person, to hug him, have long endless conversations, to stay up all night and fool around just like before. Now, he's famous and known worldwide. Girls everywhere were drooling over him.
Now that I think of it, I am a very lucky girl. To be Harry Styles best and closest friend was something all the girls would die for.
I kept walking until I saw the school. I walked in, remembering the first time Harry showed me around.
*FLASHBACK*
"You're going to love this place! I promise you. Great school, lots of nice people!" he said, flashing me a smile.
I still hung onto his arm, afraid to get lost. Even though I knew that I'd be safe with him.
*END*
I went to my locker and kept thinking about Harry just as I heard a familiar voice yell my name.
"Miranda!"
I turned and smiled as I made my way towards my best friend.
