Harry's P.O.V.

I cannot believe she got a date for prom. Well, actually I can; she's smart, beautiful, sweet, caring... and so on. No wonder this kid wanted to go with her. I just REALLY hope he doesn't leave her like that other loser did a few months ago.

I still can't believe she forgot the promise we made to each other when we were thirteen. It was the biggest promise of our friendship, besides the one we made about being friends forever, no matter what. That, we can keep. It hasn't been easy lately but we're still hanging in there. I'll never give up on her.

That promise we made years ago is what made me realized that I wanted to be with Miranda forever. I don't know why that promise made me think that way but I still have that thought. I still want to be with her forever, as friends or, if possible, a couple.

*FLASHBACK- 5 YEARS EARLIER*

We were walking by a secondary school on our way home one afternoon and we curiously watched the older kids come out of the school, joining their groups of friends.

"That will be us next year Harry," she said. "Freshmen."

I nodded and looked around and my eyes had landed on a couple sitting together on a picnic table. Then, without warning, the girl squealed and hugged the boy tight while saying, "YES!" over and over again.

"What did he ask her?" I wondered.

Miranda giggled. "They look pretty old so he probably asked her to prom."

"Oh, yeah. Makes sense. I don't know if I would want to go to prom..."

"Why not? It only happens once in your life and you'd get the chance to take a girl to a dance, maybe even that girl you fancy! Oh what's her name again? Rebecca!" she replied, wiggling her eyebrows.

I rolled my eyes. I SO did NOT fancy Rebecca. Not one bit.

"Nuh uh! The only girl I would take is you."

She smiled. "Really?"

"Yeah. I'd go to anything as long as I get to bring my best friend!"

"Aww, thanks! Alright, let's make a deal: when we graduate, we'll go to prom together!"

"Cool, deal!"

We shook hands and she hugged me. From that day on, I was looking forward to prom.

*END*

I would give anything to go with her right now. I would cancel a bunch of concerts just to go with her. I guess I could remind her but I don't want her to feel bad and start to be sad. She forgot. I'll have to live with it. People forget things over time I guess. It's not like I would be able to go anyway. I'll probably be starting a new tour by then. Probably our North American tour.

I sent her a text right after I heard about it. I congratulated her and told her to have fun. She clearly doesn't remember the promise because this is what she replied:

-Miranda: 7:22pm-

Aw, thanks best friend! I will! Austin's so sweet so I know he won't leave me like some loser we know ;) I can't wait for June now! I'll send you a picture of my dress when I get it!

I wish I could see it in person. I would probably like it better if I would get to physically see it.

I sat alone outside while the others took showers, except for Niall who was texting Sam. Those two should just get together already! I know Niall's been dying to ask her to be his girl but he's too chicken. He gets nervous around her. I say he should just build up some courage and just ask her.

As I thought about them, I heard a clicking noise and if sounded oddly like high heels. I looked up and saw a silhouette coming my way. I started to get up because I figured I should run.

"Harry!"

I stopped moving and saw none other than Rachel standing before me. I gaped at her and blinked a few times before speaking.

"Rachel... what... how?"

"I heard that you left your hometown and you did not seem too interested on talking while you were there so I figured I would come with you on this tour so we could talk all the time!"

"But you can't-"

"Don't worry; I already spoke to your management and all. They agreed to let me... tag along."

I was too shocked and upset to say anything. How could they let her come? She sighed.

"Look, Harry. I know that I can be very annoying at times but I wanted to apologize for everything. I really like you and I want to start again. Friends?"

I was still shocked so I nodded.

"How about... a couple? Officially?"

"Oh, sure, yeah. We can try."

She squealed and crushed me. She hung off my neck and kept giggling until she couldn't giggle anymore. I held her steady so she doesn't hurt herself and more importantly, me. Then it dawned on me.

What have I done?
