Miranda's P.O.V.

I'm so happy that Harry's finally back! Even though he was only gone for two months, I missed him. I needed to feel his arms around me. I know I'm safe when he's around.

Today was the twenty first so I had four days to think of a gift for him. I know I had two months to think of one but I've been so busy with school. Plus we're having a dance tomorrow night since tomorrow is the last day of school before the holidays. I've been busy thinking about what dress I should get and who should I ask to be my date. Sam helped me out with both. I finally decided on a red dress and Sam "hooked me up" with a guy named Jeric. He was cute and he seemed like a nice guy. I was surprised that a guy like him said yes. I just hope that he doesn't ditch me.

Right after I finished talking to Harry, who invited me to stay a while but I had to do some last minute homework so I declined, I went home and called Sam.

"Hello?" her mum said.

"Hi Mrs Jackson!"

"Oh hi Miranda! How are you hun?"

"I'm great, thank you. And yourself?"

"Wonderful! You must be looking for Sam."

"Yes."

"Hold on a moment."

Not to long after, Sam's voice rang through the phone.

"Hey M! What's up?"

I held back a squeel. "Guess who's back?!"

"Harry?"

"YES!" I squeeled.

She squeeled as well and we just spent the next twenty minutes talking about Harry and the dance. We agreed to meet up at her house after school at four so we could get ready together. After we hung up, I did my homework and almost immediatley fell asleep once I hit my bed.

Four.

Four hours left until the dance. I was so excited! Once I got home, I ran upstairs, grabbed my dress and shoes from the closet and brought them downstairs. I didn't need to bring anything else since Sam has a ton of make up and hair tools. I emptied my school bag and put it away in the hall closet for the holidays. I sighed and went to go see mum. She was reading.

"Hey mum." I said cheerfully.

"Hi hon." she said without looking up.

"I'll be leaving soon, just so you know."

She looked up. "Oh, alright." She put her book down. "I want you to be careful tonight okay? I know how 'wild' teenage boys can get at dances so I don't want to receive a phone call from you saying that a guy did something to you."

I tried so hard not to roll my eyes. "Okay mum. I'll be fine! Jeric won't do anything to me."

She nodded and I slowly walked to the door. She followed. I put on my shoes and grabbed my dress.

"Have fun okay?" she said.

I nodded and smiled. She gave me a little smiled in return but nothing more. I could tell that she was a little uneasy about this situation. But I knew that I'd be fine... What could go wrong?

I started to walk down to the sidewalk when I saw a curly haired boy walking towards me.

"Hey, where are you going?" he asked.

"Sam's."

"Oh?"

"Yep. Christmas dance tonight. We're getting ready together."
