Miranda's P.O.V.

I love having a best friend like Harry! He's always happy for me. I'm so glad he didn't freak out when he found out about my prom date. He's always telling me how he always wants me to be happy and I am! I'm going to PROM with AUSTIN. It can't get any better!

It's been almost two months since Harry left again and we've been keeping in touch but because of the tour, he can't talk often and for long. He seems to be doing well. I'm glad he's happy. It sucks that I won't see him until the end of June... or maybe even the end of summer.

Next weekend, Sam and I are going dress shopping! I already have a style and colour pictured in my head. If I can't find anything, then I'll just order one online or something. Thanks to technology, it's that simple! Oh speaking of dress shopping, I have to tell Nat about it. I promised her that she would be able to come with us.

-Me: 8:38pm-

Hey Nat! We're going dress shopping next weekend if you're still able to come :)

Her reply came quicker than expected.

-Nat: 8:40pm-

Okay, sounds good!

Ahh, glad that's settled. Shopping will be so much more fun now that we have a third person tagging along!

Friday came around quickly and Sam and I were leaving school. She was going to sleep over tonight since she didn't have to work. As soon as we arrived at my house, mum greeted us at the door. She had a sad expression on her face. Or a confused one. No, wait. It was her worried face. Uh oh.

"Hey mum, what's going on?" I asked.

"Hey girls. Miranda, your monthly issue of that magazine you like came today and um, well, I couldn't help it. It was on the front page so I just had to read more about it..."

Sam and I exchanged confused looks.

"Read about what?" Sam questioned.

Mum took a deep breath and pulled out the magazine from under her arm. She hesitated but let me take it. I unrolled it and saw what she was talking about. My heart just about stopped.

HARRY STYLES FINALLY HAS A GIRLFRIEND? (page 15)

That was the first title that caught my eye, along with a picture of Harry, my Harry, hugging and kissing that Rachel girl. I began to breath heavily and my eyes began to water. I shakily turned to page 15. I skimmed through the article but caught a few sentences:

"... Harry Styles finally gets together with the mystery girl... Rachel is a very lucky girl... girls all over must be jealous... 'We got into a little fight but I apologized and we made up. Now, he's mine!' said Rachel to one of our reporters... mother must be happy that he found someone... Such a cute couple..."

It kept going but I couldn't bear it. I dropped the magazine and cried. I couldn't believe it. He actually went back to her. That liar. He promised that he would get rid of her, that she would no longer be around him. I thought for sure it was all over. Sam hugged me and mum looked like she wanted to cry.

"I'm so sorry pumpkin. I wish I could fix this but I can't. No one can. You know, I know how much you like him and how much you care about him."

I kept crying but nodded. If this is how life is going to be now, then so be it. Harry obviously doesn't care much about our friendship. I know it sounds selfish to want to have him all to myself but I can't help it; I've known him too long to let him date a stupid girl like her. She's probably a mind controller or something because I know that my best friend wouldn't fall for someone like her. I can't keep forgiving him all the time, no matter how much I want to.

I guess our friendship is on hold again.

Prom is next month and we're not prepared yet. However, we are going shopping today! We want to go before the good ones are gone. We were going to go earlier but then San made a good point; she said that if we went too early, the store would have gotten new dresses and we would have possibly regretted not waiting. So, waiting till the last month is not too late and not too early. At least, I don't think so. Oh, Nat is coming as well.
After lunch, Sam knocked on my door.

"Are you ready?" she asked.

I nodded. "Let's do this!"

We drove to Nat's and picked her up, then headed to the mall. Once we got there, we immediately went to the Dress Shoppe. It's the only store in town that only sells dresses. It's not too expensive but more expensive than the ones online. We looked around and tried on a few dresses but none really looked good on me. Nat however found a dress she absolutely loved.

"Guys, this is the one!" she exclaimed.

She was right; it was a gorgeous strapless red dress, with little rhinestones on the skirt part that went just above the knee. It was also a decent price. She paid for it and we left. Nat couldn't stop talking about how good she'll look at prom. I already know that she'll look good.
She always does!

Next, we went to a little women's clothing store. Sam squealed the moment we walked in. Ahead, on a mannequin, there was a beautiful, floor length, cream coloured dress with sparkles all over it. Knowing Sam, it doesn't surprise me that she loves it. She loves sparkles.

"This... this is perfect!"

Nat and I laughed. She quickly went to try it on. She looked stunning! There's no doubt that Niall would love to see her in this dress. Too bad he's on tour. Sam obviously bought the dress right away and there was only me left. I looked around the store but couldn't find anything I liked, so we moved on. As we were leaving the store, I saw something I wish I didn't: Harry.

And to make things worse? Harry with Rachel.

He was here, in town. He didn't even tell me. Honestly, why would he? It's clear that we're not friends anymore. Still, the sight of them together made me sick and upset. I began to cry, even if I didn't want to. The two others looked me, worried.

"M, what's wrong?" Nat asked.

"Look behind you," Sam replied.

She did and her mouth made an "O" shape. Sam looked like she wanted to strangle someone.

"Come on, let's get you home," she said.

Together, they each took an arm and led me out.
