Seungcheol was reading "The Tempest" for the fifth time. He scanned the script, immersed in the mystical play as he tossed and turned in his bed. Miranda was about to declare her love for Ferdinand, and Seungcheol anxiously bit his lip, anticipating Miranda's famous line as he pictured the scene in his head. All of a sudden, Jeonghan loudly cleared his throat, and Seungcheol was broken out of his trance.
Furious that he had been interrupted, Seungcheol stuffed a bookmark in the play script and slammed it shut, glaring at Jeonghan. Jeonghan shrank back, his lips parted as if he was about to say something but was too afraid.
"I thought I told you not to disturb me when I'm reading. I don't care if you're sick, dying, whatever, just don't interrupt me. Do I make myself clear?" Seungcheol commanded, his eyes locking with Jeonghan's.
"I'm sorry, I just, um, well, I saw that you were reading something by Shakespeare, and I was just wondering, uh, do you like his work? Like, um, do you understand his plays at all? Or any of his works? You know, l-like the ones we read in school?" Jeonghan stuttered. Seungcheol grimaced as he realized where this was going.
"I am not teaching you Shakespeare. Or literature for that matter. No way," Seungcheol declared. Jeonghan frowned.
"Is there anything I can do to make you change your mind? I just–I really need your help, okay? I don't know if you know this, but I'm always in the bottom 10 ranking of students for literature exams. I really need to bring my grade up, and you're always ranked first, and we live together, so can you please help me out?" Jeonghan requested, a helpless look on his face. Seungcheol looked at Jeonghan's pleading eyes and sighed.
"I can't believe I'm saying this, but fine. For a few days each week after school, I'll tutor you in literature. However, you have to treat me to ice cream or some other snack every time I tutor you, got it?" Seungcheol conceded. Jeonghan's eyes widened.
"Are you serious? You'll actually tutor me?" Jeonghan asked, shocked.
"If you say that, I may just take my offer back-" Seungcheol started to say.
"No, no! Thank you so much! You're the best!" Jeonghan exclaimed, putting his arms around Seungcheol. Seungcheol's eyes grew, and he pushed Jeonghan away roughly.
"Well, you are letting us live with you," Seungcheol mumbled, the tips of his ears tinted red as he turned away shyly. "We can start tomorrow, okay? I'll help you with grammar and vocabulary too."
Jeonghan nodded excitedly, his eyes lighting up as a bright smile flashed across his face. Seungcheol rolled his eyes and opened up his book again, picking up where he left off and using it to hide his own smile when the other boy started to cheer cutely.
A/N: is this moving too quickly? i feel like it kinda is idk. i guess the point is supposed to be that seungcheol is tutoring him bc he's grateful that jeonghan's family letting his family stay with them? so he feels kinda obliged. ofc also bc he has a small crush on him as it has been shown, but he doesn't really wanna act on that crush because he despises the fact that jeonghan easily gets whatever he wants and doesn't have to struggle that much. idk??? is it moving too quickly? please tell me what i should be doing better! thank you! have a nice day! linked song is obviously "go crazy" by 2pm. tbh ok taecyeon is perfect husband material(just saying).
