"How would you say this phrase in English?" Seungcheol asked, pointing at a sentence in Jeonghan's textbook. "You're trying to say that you like pizza more than he does."

"I like pizza...more than him?" Jeonghan hesitantly answered aloud. Seungcheol shook his head.

"A lot of people make that mistake, even native English speakers," Seungcheol told him. "Try again, but change the last pronoun."

"I...I don't know," Jeonghan replied helplessly. Seungcheol smiled comfortingly.

"It's fine. Like I said, it's a common mistake. Even people who have English as their first language make this mistake," Seungcheol said. "The correct way to say it is 'I like pizza more than he.'"

"Why?" Jeonghan frowned.

"Ah, well...basically, if you had used 'him' instead of 'he' in that sentence, then you would be saying that you like pizza more than you like him. However, if you use 'he,' then you're saying that you like pizza more than he does. You know how in commands they get rid of the word 'you?'" It's kinda like that. The 'does' is implied," Seungcheol explained.

"Oh," Jeonghan responded. He sighed and ran a hand through his hair. "I don't think I'm gonna do well on this upcoming quiz."

"What? That's not true!" Seungcheol protested. "You've been doing really well, Jeonghan, trust me. You've made so much improvement."

"Yeah, but I keep making a bunch of mistakes," Jeonghan replied.

"So? Everyone makes these mistakes. Don't beat yourself up for it," Seungcheol said. "Let's take a break, okay? Come on. We can go get a snack."

"It's fine. Let's just continue studying. I can get this," Jeonghan persisted. Seungcheol placed a finger on Jeonghan's forehead and pushed it back strongly.

"It's not for you, it's for me. I'm hungry. Let's go get some coffee and cake," Seungcheol responded.

Seungcheol pushed his chair back and stood up, stretching lazily. Jeonghan watched Seungcheol's muscles flex as he bent one of his arms behind his head and ruffled his hair. Jeonghan snapped out of his trance and got up as well, grabbing his wallet from his desk before following Seungcheol out of their room.

"Jeonghan and I are stepping out for a bit!" Seungcheol yelled loudly.

"Have fun on your date!" Jeonghan's mother called out to Jeonghan as he put on his shoes. Jeonghan blushed, thankful that Seungcheol couldn't hear her since he was already outside.

"Shut up," Jeonghan hissed loudly, and his mother laughed.

"What took you so long? Let's go already," Seungcheol said as Jeonghan stepped outside and shut the door. He grabbed Jeonghan's hand and walked down the sidewalk quickly, pulling Jeonghan along with him.

"What are you going to get?" Jeonghan asked, looking up at Seungcheol.

"I dunno." Seungcheol shrugged. "Let's see how much money I have."

"What's wrong?" Jeonghan questioned when Seungcheol started to pat the pockets of his jeans frantically. Seungcheol groaned.

"I forgot my wallet. One second," Seungcheol said, turning to run back home. Jeonghan tugged on his hand. Seungcheol look back at him in confusion.

"I'll pay."

"Huh? Don't worry, Jeonghan, it's fine. Let me just go grab my wallet–"

"No, I'll pay," Jeonghan insisted. "Besides, aren't you the one who said that if you tutored me, I'd have to buy you something to eat?"

"But we're friends now. Friends don't have to pay for things like that," Seungcheol retorted.

"Just let me pay for you," Jeonghan replied.

"Don't worry about it, Jeonghan, it really is fine. I don't want you to waste your money on me. You could use that money for other things! I'll just go back and get my wallet, okay?" Seungcheol offered. Jeonghan sighed. He let go of Seungcheol's hand then grabbed it again, holding the older boy's hand in a tight grip.

"Just let me pay for you this time. And no, I don't think that you're a beggar," Jeonghan said. Seungcheol shut his mouth.

"I...fine," Seungcheol eventually conceded. Jeonghan smiled and swung their linked hands back-and-forth energetically as they walked to the coffee shop.

He didn't tell Seungcheol that he had wanted to pay for him to make it feel like it was a date.
