Amelia couldn't help but list the names over and over again in her head, the battle was over and the castle was being rebuilt but so many had been lost; the news had slipped out and the entire supernatural world was celebrating.

Wincing as Paul helped her pull on the black lace trim jumpsuit for the memorial service, everyone was in shock after what had happened and relieved that it was all finally over.

Aaron babbled from his seat, he had arrived that morning with Leah and several others from Washington; he was happy to be reunited with his parents even if he had no idea what had happened.

"How's Alicia?" Paul asked gently being careful not to hurt Amelia's dislocated shoulder, he had been so worried when he had heard that the throne room had collapsed after the Source had been destroyed.

It had been extremely lucky that none of the witches had been killed inside that room, most had broken bones but they had all come out of the other side and had been reunited with their family.

Amelia shook her head, her sister hadn't breathed a word to anyone once the news of Embry's death had reached her; not even Carlisle's comforting words had offered her any help.

It was hard for Amelia to even stand in the same room as Alicia, the grief and anger that Alicia felt was crushing and she was sure that Jasper was having the same problem.

Embry had been pulled from the collapsed tunnel alive and Carlisle had been so sure that his advanced healing would save him in some way; however, his injuries had been much greater than anyone had realised and so he had passed away shortly before the battle was over.

"I'm sure she'll be okay," Paul murmured looking at Amelia, he wished that there was something that he could have done to save Embry; he hated that he had lost so many great friends in the battle.

Emily had been devastated when she had learnt that Sam had been murdered and she had wept in Leah's arms unable to wrap her head around the idea that he was actually gone.

To the humans that had no idea what had really happened, they were shared the news that it had been a gas explosion that had killed their loved ones so that they were protected from the horrible truth.

Amelia didn't reply, she doubted her sister would ever let this go and she feared that she might close herself off from her siblings because they hadn't lost anything in the battle.

Embry had been killed on their second anniversary and nothing would ever change that, a day that should have seen them celebrating and preparing to graduate from high school; now it was marred by the fact that Embry had died.

Paul wrapped his arms around Amelia, he didn't want her blaming herself for this, everyone that had died had known that there was a chance that they could die and no one would ever blame the witches for that.

It was a risk that any of them would take again and Paul knew that now that it was over they had nothing to be worried about.

Amelia closed her eyes, she couldn't imagine what the future would hold for them now and she hoped that Alicia wasn't going to suffer for the rest of her life for what had happened.

There was no doubt in her mind that Embry wouldn't want her to spend her life locked away and avoiding her family because of what had happened; he would be waiting for her when it was time for them to be reunited.

Leah squeezed Aiden's hand as she helped him walk to the front, everyone had gathered together to remember those who had fallen in battle and she was disappointed to see that Alicia wasn't amongst the crowd.

She had been so relieved to hear that Aiden had made it out of the battle alive, he would have a nasty scar running from the top of his head down his face but she could live with that.

Aiden nodded to her in thanks, his right leg was in a cast and it made moving around on the marble floors a little difficult; he took a deep breath as he looked through the crowds.

Moving away from him, Leah rested a hand on her bump and smiled feeling her baby move; the black jersey dress that she was wearing allowed her nineteen-week bump peek through.

"We are gathered here today to remember the brave souls that fought to defeat an evil that threatened to destroy this world," Aiden began, he looked to Amelia who was standing with Paul and Aaron, he knew that the path she had chosen now was far different from the path that he would now follow.

Leah had fallen in love with Italy since she had arrived and the two had decided that since the new council would be here that it would be the perfect place for them both to relocate to.

They were quietly starting to look for a new home, they didn't wish to let anyone knew their plans until things had calmed down; people were grieving and news like this would not be welcomed.

"The dark past is over and we move into a new light era that shall be governed by a Supernatural Council," Aiden continued with a sad smile, so many good people had been lost and he truly hoped that they would be able to fine peace after what had happened.

The Council was slowly starting to come together and members were being chosen for them and so far a couple of seats had been taken.

Carlisle had been the obvious choose for the vampire seat, he was the sort of person that would be better suited to the position than anyone else and would stop more wars braking out.

The appointment had been very welcome especially since he had no interest in returning to his coven anymore, the loss of Esme had been hard for him and he mourned the loss of his wife.

Aiden would take the place of the witch council member and Seth looked set to become the shape-shifter member since most of the pack wanted to return to La Push for some peace and the position would allow him to be close to Nessie.

The room was silent as they listened to what Aiden was saying, there had never been a supernatural council before and this would create peace around the world.

Something that the Source of all evil had attempted to stop and in his death, things would finally start to calm down and allow the world to be at peace.

In time a position would even open up for humans to join onto the council when they were ready accept they weren't the only beings on the planet.

A new age of peace was beginning and everyone wanted it to work, they were determined to ensure that an evil like the Source was never able to take hold of the world again.

"They will never be forgotten," Aiden concluded knowing that there was no one in this room that hadn't been affected by the deaths, they had all lost someone that they had cared about.

Leah moved to help him again as he moved away from the gathering, it was all going to be okay and she knew that it was going to be hard for a while.

They just had to turn their attention to the future and Leah was sure that once the council got to work that it would work out; she hugged Aiden close, she wasn't going to give up on her family making it through this.
