Aiden took a deep breath as he walked along the newly rebuilt corridor in Volturi, it was the perfect place to run the Council from and he hoped that it would go well; it had been three months since the battle had ended and things were so different.

It hadn't taken him or Leah long to find a house that they adored just outside of the city and while the house was being decorated for them to move into; they were currently staying in one of the bedrooms in the castle.

The hope was that the house would be ready before their baby was due in August, the couple were counting down the days until they got to hold the baby in their arms for the first time.

Aiden focused at the task at hand, he was alone now without his sisters and he knew that he had to make it count; he was going to ensure that this Age of Peace lasted for as long as possible.

Of course, it had been hard to say goodbye to Amelia and Alicia but they had lives to return to and he knew that it wouldn't be long before they saw one another again.

Amelia already had plans to come and visit along with Paul and Aaron that Christmas, she couldn't wait to dote on her new niece or nephew when the time came.

No one was sure what Alicia was going to do, she had barely spoken a word before flying back to Washington with Amelia and from what Aiden had heard she still wasn't saying much.

He couldn't imagine what she was going through right now and he wished that he could take away Alicia's pain; he was sure that Embry was watching over her from the afterlife.

Shaking his head, Aiden reached the new council chambers that had once been the throne room; he paused outside of the doors preparing himself for what was too come, it would be the first meeting that the council ever held.

Pushing the doors open, Aiden stepped inside and smiled at the sight of the others that were in the room; he hadn't expected them all to be here so soon.

Carlisle and Seth nodded at him as they took their own seats, they were amazed with how big the council was turning out even if things were still working out; they just hoped that this would work.

Everyone moved to take their seats so that they could start the council meeting, none of them could believe that they had been honoured with positions on the council; it wasn't just the big species that had gotten seats, but the small ones as well.

There had never been anything like this in the history of the supernatural world and it was certainly something that would change everything for the world as it was.

Aiden stood in his place and looked around the table; witch, vampire, shapeshifter, werewolf, leprechaun, fairy, giant... and many others, they had all come together to help.

None of them wished to have a repeat of what had happened just three months ago before, they were all sure that a second battle would only led to them being outed to the human world and being destroyed.

This council wanted to see that peace was kept for as long as possible and they were going to start with a set of rules to make sure that no more wars broke out; they couldn't have another loss of life like they had experienced last month.

"So... let us begin," Aiden said sitting down, he felt pride fill him knowing that whatever might happen to him in the future this was his legacy.

One day his eldest child would take his place and he was sure their eldest child would take their place; nothing could be more important than keeping the peace.

They would never be put in a position where they would have to decide between their lives and the world again.
