Aiden took a deep breath as he knocked on Sue's front door, this wasn't how he had expected Christmas to go but Leah was still refusing to go home and there had been little that he could do to convince her otherwise.

It was cold out and Aiden was glad that Sue had invited him around, he hadn't known what else to do and he didn't feel like gate-crashing his sisters' plans.

Amelia would have enough on her plate with Robert being there and Embry and Alicia had gone to visit some of his relatives; Aiden knew this whole mess was his own fault.

He didn't have to wait long before Leah opened the door, she swallowed staring at him and Aiden knew this wasn't going to be easy; he wanted to make things right but he just wasn't sure how.

"Merry Christmas," Aiden murmured softly, he offered a nervous smile to his wife and hoped that she would forgive him for being a fool.

Aiden had called his cousins to help them out and he was making steps to apologise to his sisters for how he had treated them; it was just Leah who seemed to still be angry at him.

Stepping into the house, Aiden shrugged off his coat and peeked around curious where everyone was; he didn't want any trouble and he just wanted to enjoy the holidays.

"No Seth?" Aiden asked trying to make easy conversation with Leah, they moved into the living room; Sue could be heard preparing the dinner and Aiden doubted that she wasn't trying to listen in.

Leah shook her head, she brushed her fingers against her stomach knowing that she had no idea how to speak with Aiden; she knew that he missed her but that wasn't enough.

"He wanted to spend the day with Nessie," Leah replied trying to be polite, she had to think of baby and she was determined to give up her wolf before she was too pregnant; she wanted to focus on her family and she had talked with Jacob about leaving the pack.

Aiden slowly nodded his head, he hoped that one day Leah would forgive him and they would be able to think about the baby they were going to have.

Robert Lahote took a deep breath before knocking on the front door to the house where his son lived, he couldn't believe that he was a grandfather and he had no idea how Paul had gotten himself into this mess.

It had been a surprise to receive an invite to spend Christmas with Amelia and Paul, Robert wasn't fond of his son's choice in fiancée but he was glad to see there was no sign of a wedding just yet.

"Dad," Paul greeted opening the front door to his father, he was a little surprised that Robert had agreed to come and spend the holidays with them and he hoped there wouldn't be any fighting.

Amelia had done this for a reason and she seemed so content right now that Paul didn't want any trouble, things were going well and he wanted to enjoy the holidays.

Last year they had all been thinking about the Volturi coming to kill them all, this year it was about the impending fight against the Source that seemed to haunt them.

"How was your trip?" Paul asked allowing Robert into the house, it had been a year since he had last seen his father and he wasn't sure what to say to him.

Robert hadn't come back or called when he had been told that Aaron had been born, Paul knew that his father struggled and he did hope that things would one day chance.

"It was fine," Robert replied simply, he couldn't believe how much the house had changed since he had last been there and he guessed that was going to happen with a baby around.

The two moved into the living room where Amelia was waiting to greet them, she knew that it was going to be strange but she was sure that things would work out well if they just tried to work things out.

"It's nice to see you Robert," Amelia greeted smiling, Paul was going to need his family if she didn't make it back from the fight against the Source; she wanted Aaron to grow up loved and to feel like that he had a family.

Robert nodded to Amelia, she looked well and he guessed that she'd been busy since she'd had the baby; he slowly started to remove his coat while Paul moved into the kitchen to check on dinner.

"I'm glad that you were able to join us," Amelia said trying to ease the tension that seemed to linger, she didn't want fighting over the holidays and she hoped to get Robert too warm to her.

Their first meeting had been a mess since there had been so much going on but Amelia was sure that would change if they didn't have to worry about anything; there was no threat that was going to jump out and surprise them this time.

Aaron whimpered making Amelia sigh before she moved to pick him up, she fussed over him knowing that he hadn't long had a nap; he was good for a little while and she hoped to get him down for his next nap before dinner.

Robert stared at Amelia with Aaron, he swallowed at the first sight of his grandson; he looked so much like Paul had when he was that age and he knew that things were going to be strange for a while.

"Would you like to hold him?" Amelia offered smiling at Robert, she peeked down at Aaron who seemed very interested in the newcomer, it was rare that a complete strange came into his home like this.

Nodding his head, Robert couldn't remember the last time that he'd held a baby; it had probably been Paul and that had been such a long time ago.

Slowly handing Aaron over to Robert, Amelia prayed that this was going well and that there wasn't going to be any more trouble; she wanted a Christmas that didn't have any problems.

Robert cooed over Aaron, he was suddenly very glad that he had come to see Paul's family for the holidays.

Alicia grinned as she wrapped her arms around Embry, she was so happy they had gotten away from Forks for a while and she knew that this was their last chance before the battle.

It had been Embry's suggestion that they come and visit some of his relatives over the holidays, he had seen how stressed out Alicia was getting and he thought that a holiday would be a good get away for her.

Aiden and Amelia had so much going on that they didn't seem to realise what was going on with Alicia; Embry didn't blame them but he did hope that once the Source was dealt with that they'd all have normal lives.

"Your aunt wants to know if you want any dessert?" Alicia asked softly, she was happy and she really hoped that this wasn't going to be her last Christmas; there was so much that she wanted to do and she was going to fight for her life.

Embry shook his head, he was more interested in spending time with Alicia; he didn't know how much longer they had left and he was determined to make sure that they enjoyed every moment that they had.

It was going to be a hard couple of months, no one knew who would be coming back from this battle and if they did then they would never be the same.

"It's gonna be okay," Alicia mumbled knowing what he was thinking about, she was sure they would make it and she knew that it was going to be an interesting fight.
