'Cause this is a wasteland, my only retreat

Allison's POV

Today's the day I get to finally see my idols perform live! It's also the day where I get to leave my 'home'. Luckily, today's Saturday so I don't have to go to school. That's another plus to the day. I finally get out of bed and make my way downstairs. I notice my dad passed out on the couch surrounded by numerous bottles of beer bottles.

"Assshole." I think to myself. I then continue to make my way towards the kitchen. I grab a small apple from the fruit bowl and quickly retreat back to my room. Unfortunately, my dad had woken up.

"Get me a bottle of beer bitch!" My dad yelled.

"Don't you think it's a little early?" I said in concern.  Hey, I still care about the man.

"Don't you talk back bitch, now go get me a bottle of beer!" I quickly go get him his stupid beer and give it to him.

"Now go to your room, I don't want to see your ugly face." He said before chugging down the beer. I go to my room and lay down on the bed.

"Thank god I'm leaving this place." I think to myself.

It's time. I grab to bag that I packed the night before and walk out to the front door. Before I continued my journey and stood in place in front of the place I used to call home. I remember all the happy memories that I had in there before my father became an alcoholic. He triggered the fighting. My mom would and still does yell at him for his drinking habits. That just led to them yelling at each other for other things as well.

Staring at the house, I remain on remembering the happy memories. The time I got my first guitar for my 13th birthday. When I used to put on a 'concert' for my parents, showing off my guitar and singing skills. I didn't think I was any good, but they said that I had potential. My best memory by far was with my best friend. He was three years older than me, but we got along, real well. This may come to a surprise to you, but that guy was Luke Hemmings. He used to be my neighbor. I knew him before all the fame. I was the one who convinced him to post that first YouTube video. We started drifting apart when he started getting more into his music. Eventually we stopped talking. I don't blame him about it, and I hope he doesn't blame me. I wanted him to make his dream come true, and didn't want to be in the way.

I quickly come back to reality, and walk away. I go to the bus stations and take the bus that goes to where 5sos will be playing. Once I get there, I get off the bus and go to the line to enter. I pull out my ticket and wait till it's my turn. When it's my turn, I hand the man the ticket and he lets me in. I got to my seat, which just so happens to be three rows away from the boys. I don't know why my parents would get these seats for me, but I'm not complaining.

The stadium quickly becomes even more and more packed by the second. I can't believe I'm seeing them live. I'm so proud of them, especially Luke. I helped him in a way. If he never started that channel, who knows where they would be now.

I was drawn out of my thoughts when the screams of the girls became 10 times later. All of a sudden Ashton appeared and banged his drums. Then the rest of the boys came on stage.

You walked in
Everyone was asking for your name
You just smiled and told them "Trouble"

They began to sing End Up Here. When they finished, they began to talk to us.

"Hello everyone! How're y'all doing tonight!?" Ashton screams into the mic. In response, everyone screams.

"You guys are loud, wow." Calum chuckled. They then began to talk a bit and play a bunch of songs. During one of their talking bits, Luke kept looking at me in confusion. His face then lit up in realization.

"Allison?" He mouthed towards me. I giggled and nodded. I can't believe he remembered me. His smile grew even bigger. Did he really miss me that much? For the rest of the night, the boys played a bunch of songs and talked with us. Although, every happy time, has to come to an end. After they played their last song, everyone filed out with both joy and sadness. I clutched onto my backpack and continued to walk. I was suddenly stopped by a tap on my shoulder. I turned around and was met with a huge built man.

"Are you Allison, the one who Luke won't stop gushing about missing you?" He asked.

"Yes?" I said in confusion.

"Follow me backstage, he'd like to see you." I quickly followed him, my nerves quickly building up. What if he thinks I changed? What if he hates me now? What I the rest of the boys s don't like me? I quickly stopped all my thoughts when I was standing outside their dressing room. The man opened the door and led me into the room. I nervously walked in and saw that all the boys were there.

"Boys, I found her." The man said then left. Well okay then. They all snapped their heads towards me and suddenly I felt self conscious. Luke immediately ran towards me and pulled me into a tight hug. I quickly hugged him back.

"I missed you so much." Luke said.

"I missed you too." I smiled, pulling myself out of the hug.

"Guys, this is Allison. She used to live next door to me and was my best friend." The boys all respond with 'hi's and 'hey's.

"Well, we'll leave you guys so you can catch up." Ashton said then they all left, leaving Luke and I alone.

"I'm sorry for loosing touch. I was really busy and didn't have any time." He sighed sadly.

"Luke, it's fine. You're living your dream." I smiled.

"And it's all because of you."

"You're the one with the talent, I simply gave you a push."

"Yeah, I know. Anyways, enough about me. How're you?" He asked looking concerned? Why's he concerned?

"Fine."

"Okay." He said looking unconvinced. "Do you need a ride home?" He asked dismissing the topic.

"No." I replied a little too quickly and loudly. Well, shit, I screwed up. "No, it's fine, I can just take a bus."

"Let me take you home it's fine." He said pushing it.

"I'm serious it's fine." I said. My breathing began to quicken out of nervousness. "I should go." I said, while standing up.

"Are you okay?" He asked.

"Luke, I'm fine." I said. I quickly left the dressing room and basically ran out of the place. By the time I got out I was full on crying. I leant on the wall and slowly slid down it. I continued crying in my hands until I heard footsteps. I looked up and saw Luke. He beat down and rubbed my back in comfort.

"Allison, what happened? What happened when I was gone?" He asked seriously.

"Nothing Luke." I sighed.

"Obviously, there's something. When I hugged you, I could practically feel your bones and you were so against me taking you home. Plus you have a huge ass backpack with you." Well there's no way out of this, is there.
