I met a girl who never looked so alone

Allison's POV

When we got home, I went to my room and into the bathroom. I walked in and locked the door behind me. I knelt down on the floor and shoved two fingers down my throat, throwing up the food I just ate.  After I finished, I brushed my teeth and walked out.  I decided to go downstairs and see what everyone else was up to.  I walked down and saw them all sat in a circle.

"You came just in time!" Ashton exclaimed.

"Why?"

"We were just about to play truth or dare." Izzy said.

"Fun." I said sitting in between Izzy and Ashton.

"Luke, truth or dare?" Calum asked.

"Dare."

"I dare you to call Mama Liz and tell her that you got in a car accident."

"Oh god." He pulled out his phone and called her, putting it on speaker.

"Hello?" I heard his mom say through the phone.

"Hi mom."

"Hello Luke, what's wrong?"

"Um, I have to tell you something...."

"Well what is it?"

"I got in a car accident." Silence, excluding a few of our giggles.

"Lucas Robert Hemmings!  What have I told you about driving!?  You are a horrible driver!" She yelled through the phone.

"Mom, it was a dare."

"What?"

"Calum, dared me to tell you that."

"Calum Thomas Hood!  I am telling your mother about this!" She yelled.

"Aw shit." Calum said. Luke then hung up the phone.

"Ok, let's continue, Izzy, truth or dare?" Luke asked.

"Um dare." She giggled.

"I dare you to go to your room with Calum and stay there until I get you."

"Alright, let's go!" She exclaimed and dragged Calum up the stairs.

"I'll go, Allison truth or dare?" Ashton asked me.

"Truth."

"You're no fun." Luke pouted. I simply shrugged.

"Why did you need a place to stay? It's not that I don't like your company, I'm just curious on why." Ashton said. I suddenly froze in place. "You don't have to tell us, it's fine, I didn't realize it was something personal. I'm sorry."

"It's fine, I'll tell you guys another time." I smiled reassuring him. We continued to play a couple more rounds until it got late.

"Shit, we forgot about Calizzy." Luke said.

"Well, then go get them." I said.

"I'm scared. What if I, you know, walk in on them doing something my eyes shouldn't see?" Luke said.

"How bout we all just go?" Michael said. We all agreed and walked up the stairs to Izzy's room. Before we walked in, we heard a, you know, moan.

"Yuck!"

"Gross."

"Why would they do this to us?"

"Balls." You can guess who said that.

"Let's sleep downstairs. I don't wanna listen to this all night." I suggested. We all then went back downstairs, carrying a bunch of blankets and pillows. We laid them all out and laid down on them.

"Goodnight." I said.

"Night." Luke said.

"Goodnight, don't let the bed bugs bite." Ashton giggled.

"Goodnight." Michael said. "Penis."

"Thanks Michael, that is the most touching thing I ever heard before I went to sleep." I rolled my eyes.

"You're welcome." With that, we all went to sleep. Well at least they did. I couldn't fall asleep. I stayed up and did the worst thing, I started to think.

I thought back to before I ran away. The constant harassment from both my classmates and parents. The names constantly being thrown at me. The beatings. Everything. Everyone managed to make my life a living hell. I even managed to do that. I believed and still do believe the negative things that people call me. I drowned myself in depression and anxiety and now I can't get out of it. I fuck up my life, big time.

I felt a tear stream down my face and quickly wiped it away. I miss my old life. All the happy memories. When my mom and dad were happy and rarely fought. When I only had scars and bruises from falling down.  When I was only sad when someone close to me died. When I was happy.

I was now crying uncontrollably.  I tried to muffle my crying by covering my mouth with my hand, but that didn't seem to help.

"Allison?" I heard someone whisper. I looked over and saw that Michael was looking at me.

"Yeah?"

"Are you crying?"

"Yeah." I didn't want to tell another lie. I'm sick of it.

"Come with me." He said grabbing my hand, bringing me to my feet.  He led through the back door and went outside by a tree.

"What are we doing out here?"

"Sometimes when I go outside at night it allows me to clear my head with all my thoughts.  Now, why were you crying?"

"Promise not to tell anyone, only Luke knows."

"I promise."

I sighed before I begin to tell him everything. From my parents to people at school.  How everyone always leaves me, even if they promised not to. I don't know why I told him everything. I only met him recently. There's something different about Michael though. I feel like I can trust him.

"I'll never leave you, Allison.  That's a promise, and I will not break it."  Maybe I do have hope in my life.  Just maybe.
