I woke up earlier than I expected. I thought I will overslept 'cause I've been chatting with Aki-chan for hours, he doesn't seem to sleep early 'cause Shiomicchi's been neglecting some of her works and he's the one doing them instead. Ericchi was furious when I called her in the middle of the night that's why I didn't bother her anymore, I think I'll apologize to her later.I took a bath first then change in to my uniform. I went downstairs to cook my own breakfast before anyone can see me but...
"Ohayou, Akashi-san. You're up early." Souma-kun greeted me. He is sitting in the middle of the dining room with his knife case on his side, I already guess that he's waiting for Isshicchi to challenge him in to a Shokugeki, how do I know? Intuition.
He's wearing a bandanna and somewhat looks like his diner's uniform.
"Ohayou Souma-kun. And please just call me Kurumi." I smiled at him, but deep down I'm annoyed 'cause I can't cook my usual breakfast because of him, maybe I'll ask Issicchi to make me one.
"You're up early too, I see." I tilt my head."Ahh, I have a business with Isshiki-senpai. I noticed you already went to bed last night, you didn't talk too much, too." He scratch his head.
"I was sleepy and Isshicchi's get-up horrified me." I sheepishly smiled at him, I can see a faint pink in his cheeks which made me remember again what happened in the bath room.
I took a seat and just waited for Isshicchi to make me breakfast.
"Neh, Souma-kun. Are you really serious about taking the first place?" I asked him while tying my hair in to a high ponytail.
"Yeah, I'm kind of in the middle of a fight with my dad. I have to pull off something that major if I'm going to get any respect from him." He replied, still sitting on his chair in the middle of the room while facing the door.
I quickly understood him, I mean with a dad like him, even his son would want respect from him.
"Souma-kun, waiting for Isshicchi would be useless." I decided to tell him that Shokugeki isn't that simple before he embarass himself even further.
"Eh? Why is that, Kurumi?" He looked at me with curious face, I twitched at the sound of my first name coming from him.
"About the challenges here at Totsuki Academy...There is an established policy at this academy to settle disputes among students."
I began to explain when he stood up and went to seat across me."There are several rules. Should you wish anyone to a Shokugeki, you must wager something that is in equal value."
"A wager equal in value?" Souma-kun asked.
"For example, If you challenge Isshicchi for his seat, not even your expulsion is enough." I deadpanned
"Seriously?!"
"Yes, the Elite Ten is worth that much. Well, there are three things you need for an official cook-off." I inhaled.
"First, an adjudicator to certify that it is a formal challenge. Second, an odd number of judges. Third, an agreement between the contestants about the conditions of the challenge. All must be met for the formal challenge to be valid." I exhaled."Ahh, I see. Sounds like a huge bother." He pouted. Wahhh, cute!. I internally screamed. Seriously, there's something wrong with me.
I cleared my throat."On the flip side, as long as you can meet those three conditions, you can challenge anyone in the academy." I looked at him, I'm sure that he'll surpass his father someday.
"How come you know about all of this, Kurumi?" He suddenly caught me off guard.
I sighed in defeat.
"Well, I onced lived here with the Nakiris but transfered to America for some reason.""So that's why you're close with Nakiri." His golden eyes seem to glow with excitement.
"She doesn't really hate you, she's just annoyed. So, don't worry." I assured him.
"Then, why did you stayed here in this dormitory instead of being with her?" He asked.
I was about to answer when Isshicchi spoke, standing at the door. I was surprize he's wearing normal clothes.
"Ohayou, you two seem to be getting along well. What's up with your clothes, Souma-kun?" Isshicchi smiled but I can sense a little jealousy on his voice.
"Ohayou Isshiki-senpai. I was about to challenge you in to a Shokugeki but disappointed when Kurumi explained to me the details." He smiled.
"I see." He smiled back. I sensed something. Uh-oh.
"Ohayou Isshicchi!" I spoke. "Can you make me breakfast? I don't want to bother Fumio-san." I asked him. He already knew why I didn't cook my own.
"Of course, Kurumi-chan. Just give me a minute. How about you Souma-kun?" He's back to normal.
"No thanks, Isshiki-senpai. I need to change clothes anyway. See you later, Kurumi." He grinned and walked away.
"Something happened last night, nee Isshicchi." I didn't asked him, I told him.
"Yeah. But of course, there's no need for me to tell you, you already know everything, neh Kurumi-chan." He said in a deeper voice.
"Haha! You're such a cutie, Sa-to-shi." I teased him.
"Don't be ridiculous, Ku-ru-mi." He teased me back, going to the kitchen. We're so much alike. That's why I like him, well as a friend.
I just seated there quietly and mentally made a list of some people whom I newly met that caught my interest.
Yukihira Souma
Takumi Aldini
Isami Aldini
Tadakoro MegumiI need more.
