"Arguing in front of the students. How unbecoming. I expected more from you three." She clicked her tongue as she crossed her arms, still glaring at the three. She took a glance at the students in their stations. "Dismiss them already, Shinomiya. Except for this two here."
"W-what are you doing here, Kurumi?" Shinomiya stuttered. He didn't expect this to happen. He suddenly got worried. "Wait, did you hear everything?"
"I saw everything. Just dismiss them already, idiot." Her words are as cold as her glares.
Shinomiya's eyes twitched in fear as he gestured the students to dismiss while Megumi is still holding Souma's arms, her whole body is shaking in fear not because of Shinomiya but because of how heavy the authority on Kurumi's words, even Shinomiya obeyed, making her think who she really is. She remembered how Kurumi reacted in the assembly yesterday, her face contorted with sadness, but compared to now, it feels like she's a whole different person.
Souma on the other hand, is thinking the same but his uneasiness grew when he saw how Shinomiya look at the ravenette, there is fear but behind it is longing. He somehow remembered when she suddenly disappeared yesderday when she talked to Nikumi. His first impression on her was right all along.
When all the people in the kitchen already dispersed, she walked towards them with the aura of a lioness cornering her prey.
"Megumi, your dish please." She gestured Megumi and immediately the bluenette flinched as she released Souma's arms and went to take her terrine to Kurumi. Kurumi took a fork and tasted a portion of the dish.
She glared at Shinomiya when she's finished. "This is definitely a pass. Failing her would be a loss to the academy. Are you stupid, Shinomiya? Do you even think? Do you have a brain?" She continued to insult the older male.Shinomiya remained silent, flinching at every word Kurumi is giving him. He knew he was being unreasonable and he just broke his promise to Kurumi.
"But..." She turned to the two. "Shinomiya is right about the part of being agressive when it comes to competition. The real world of food is not only vast but cruel. And Souma is right about Megumi being creative. Quick adaptation is also important. I'm not going to side any of you. Both of you has a point, and both of you, Shinomiya and Megumi, has faults."
She set her fork down and placed her hands on her hips.
"Shokugeki. I suggest a Shokugeki.""What? What are you trying to say, Kurumi? Letting her pass is one thing, but Shokugeki?" Shinomiya exclaimed.
"W-wait, I passed?" Megumi asked
"Yes Megumi, you passed. I see no reason for Shinomiya to fail you. But even though you passed, we'll still have a Shokugeki. And it will be between you and Souma against Shinomiya." She said plainly.
"I can't believe this." Shinomiya scoffed
"I believe you're thinking the same, Souma-kun? You're going to challenge him, am I right?" She faced Souma.
"Yes, I was about to suggest it a while ago." He is still a little bit disoriented from the events, thinking what Shinomiya's relationship with the girl and how come she has the authority to boss him around.
Kurumi turned to Shinomiya. "Let's decide through a Shokugeki. Unofficial Shokugeki will be fine. I'll be taking care of the conditions, meet me at the basement kitchen after the afternoon task. What do you think, Souma?"
"I accept. " he replied. He step his thoughts aside and concentrate on the Shokugeki. His pride and Megumi's as a chef is on the line. And he couldn't accept the insults Shinomiya said to them.
"Shinomiya?" Kurumi turned to him.
"...this is ridiculous." He spat.
"Are you afraid? First seat?" She said mockingly.
"Fine, brat. This is just ridiculous." He turned his head away from them.
"Well, that's all. I still need to go to my next task. And if you'll excuse me, I'll be going. See you this afternoon." She turned on her heels and exited the kitchen with a small smile playing on her lips, leaving the three still dumbfounded.
