I looked at Ryo directly in the eyes and I saw things that I shouldn't have. I forced myself to be glad but at the same time fear and uncertainty envelops me. Then I realized, I'm afraid of getting hurt again. The feeling of losing someone is too painful, the feeling of losing something important is devastating and the feeling of getting replaced is just too aweful. I can only pursue this path when I'm ready, not today. But thet didn't stop me from being hopeful. I had to look away and fake a cough, making him drop his hand.I looked at my feet and tried to move them, I guess being able to heal fast has its advantages. Getting myself off the bed was tricky, Ryo tried to help me but I immediately refused.
"I'm fine Ryo. How about you get Alice and meet me at the kitchen?"He looked at me questioningly.
"Just go get her, dork." I gave him a smile and he nodded.
Watching him walked past the door, stretched my stiff arms and walked towards the door. I quickly took a glance at something at the table in the corner. I felt my heart being stabbed by hundreds of needles but I forced a smile and closed the door.
This is why pain is constant.
*************"I challenge you to a cooking battle, Alice-chan." I declared while pointing a spatula at her as soon as she entered the kitchen with Ryo tailing her.
I should have taken a picture at her face. I don't even know if she's glad or scared because her expression is messed up. Priceless.
"Come on, Ojou. Accept it. Don't tell me you're chickening out." I gave her a grin."I - I am not! Mou~ You should have called or something, Kurumi-chan. Fine! I accept your challenge!" She pouted while she have her hands on her hips.
"What are the conditions?""Hmmm~ What indeed." I put my finger on my lips and smiled at her.
"And oh, Ryo will be the judge."***************
Third person's POV
Polar Star Dormitory
"I wish Akashi-chan could have stayed a little longer. We haven't had a real conversation yet." Yoshino whined while picking strawberries.
"I'm sure she's just a little busy." Isshiki hummed while toiling the soil(in his fundoshi, ofc~).
"I am still having a hard time believing she was a part of the elite ten a year ago. Isshiki-senpai wouldn't even tell us anything. I thought we are friends." The girl whined more.
"It's confidential. And it's not my place to tell you anything without her permission. You could ask her when she gets back." He shrugged as he glanced the red-headed boy with the bluenette harvesting tomatoes.
"We could do that. But still, it's pretty cool to have someone so prestige in our dormitory." Sakaki said while preparing snacks for the lot, remembering the Egg challenge at training camp a few days back.
"The snacks are ready!"All of them minus Marui and the duo happily paused their work and went to the table.
"Ah. I almost forgot. Don't hesitate to ask her for help. She always loved helping people improve. And she's really knowledgeable at every aspect of the world of culinary. And did you know that she worked at SHINO's for months as an apprentice?"Souma, Megumi, Yoshino, Sakaki and Ibusaki stared at Isshiki.
"I thought it's not your place to blab, senpai?" Yoshino pointed at the brunette.
"SHINO's? You mean Shinomiya-senpai's restaurant?" Megumi looks so overwhelmed. Isshiki couldn't help but to sweatdrop and regret his action. But he didn't missed the change of expression on Souma's face before changing back to normal, even if it's just a moment.
"So that's why they're so familiar with each other at the camp!" Megumi continued."Really? How familiar?" Yoshino asked the petite girl.
"I-I don't really know..." Megumi sweatdropped, but she couldn't forget how Kurumi easily bossed Shinomiya around and the way Shinomiya looked at the said girl. It's making the bluenette confused but Souma seem to have figured it out after hearing that Kurumi had worked for Shinomiya before and he didn't like it for a bit.
Sensing the atmosphere, Isshiki called their attention to get back to work as soon as they finish their snacks.
I know how you feel, Souma-kun. Isshiki thought.
